"DEC-2023 (UPDATE): Seems like this practice is continuing in its tradition of never answering the phone. I received an email notice of an addition to the patient portal; it contained an invoice for a nominal, post-insurance amount due for services rendered ONE YEAR AGO. I had some questions about the invoice, so I called several times -only to get voicemail. I eventually left a message. The bill also contained a completely nonsensical physical mailing address for me which needs to be corrected. I will avoid this practice in the future. Not recommended. DEC-2022: Communication by this practice is very poor. The staff virtually never answers the phone; you have to get creative with their phone system to get through to anyone. Emails are received from seemingly unrelated entities and emails sent to practice personnel (with questions) are not returned; automated texts spew wrong information. I input all of my medical history into their online "system" twice! --only to be asked later for the same info again (I was told that there were no entries, although I could see all of the info myself on their website when I logged in). I found out that a procedure needed to be redone when I got a call weeks later from a scheduling person; HUH? -never a word about it from any medical professional. Because of this, I was told by two Capital Gastro staff members (both medical & administrative) that I would immediately be informed by the practice's medical staff after the second procedure as to how it went; that did not happen."

"You really have to ask yourself before going to a doctor here if you want care from a practice that will not return calls or emails and the only way to communicate is to actually go to their physical location."

"I went in for a colonoscopy and was not told that I would be wide awake for the procedure. The whole ordeal was so traumatizing it took me days to get over it because of the horrific pain that I endured. I have been advised to sue Capital gastro. Before the procedure it was noted on the wall the name of the doctor and the anesthesiologist name. So I had the understanding that I would not be awake for this procedure that is usually done under anesthesia because of the pain scale of it all. When they pulled me in the room to start the procedure that's when they told me I would not be put under. I had a severe panic attack and was completely terrified. It was like some cruel joke. I would say it is the worst experience in my whole entire life."

"As many other reviewers have stated, communication with this provider is awful. It took two weeks of calling and repeatedly leaving messages before I was finally able to get a colonoscopy scheduled. Now it’s been 10 days post procedure, and again I have been unable to reach the office to get my procedure report and biopsy results. 5 calls and voicemails…nothing. And to make matters worse, they have not updated their website’s SSL security certificate, so I get a message when you visit the website that says the site and your data are not secure. Save yourself time and headaches, and look elsewhere."

"Never returns calls. Left multiple voicemails and only reason I got the response I needed was consistently calling them over a weeks time. I canceled an appointment a while back and apparently the cancelation was not forwarded to the hospital. I kept getting reached out to by the hospital to the point that I went through all the paperwork for the appointment since I never heard anything back from capital gastro so I thought I was going to have to cancel my plans. I was finally able to get in touch with capital gastro 5 days before the scheduled time of my appointment. To add to this fun story they called back to try and get me set up on another appointment and the call kept "failing" (must not be on my end because I call all day for work) so never got something on the books. My suggestion is if there's any other company that you can go through chose them. For a company that is supposed to act more as a consultant to their patients it seems like they need the consulting."
