"I totally agree with Tom Tafoya, Dave A, Frank Thorp, and K P reviews of Dr. Shah. I became a patient of Dr. Kavita Shah on November 8, 2022. I am retired for the U.S. Army and is a 100% disabled veteran. When I first met Dr. Shah, I explained to her all my health problems. Some are severe. When I visited with Dr. Shah, she was always late seeing me. Her nurse took my vitals and blood for my pre-diabetes. During my visits Dr. Shah never examined me. She would listen to my medical problem briefly and refer me out to another doctor or specialist. This happened during all the visits I had with her. During our meetings Dr. Shah never treated me for anything. Dr. Shah would refer me out approximately 15 minutes after meeting with her. She never wants to hear about everything that is going on with me as her patient. She rushes through the appointment and refers me out for further treatment. Dr. Shah has never treated me for any of my severe medical conditions or minor medical conditions. Dr. Shah refused to refill any of my most needed medications which include anxiety, panic attack, occasional pain meds, and sleep medications for sleep apnea. Dr. Shah has never refilled any of my basic medications since our first meeting. Dr. Shah justification for not filling my most needed medications was the red tape and tracking guidelines in Texas wasn't worth her time prescribing those medications to her patients, and advised me that if I wanted them, to get them from the VA. Dr. Shah knew of my medical problems and conditions when she took me on as a patient. Dr. Shah approved all my referrals to see specialists or for surgeries. I never received a call or message through Texas Health My Chart from Dr. Shah or her office. I never received a request for a Tele-Health call or video chat with Dr. Shah. Dr Shah claimed she terminated our relationship because I cancelled two appointments, but Dr. Shah was aware of my medical status, because she did all the referrals for my care and never questioned one of the requests of contacted me to discuss further. I called Dr. Shah office on several occasions, and as recently as September 15, 2023, due to severe pain. Dr. Shah told me to go to the emergency room. Which I did and I was told I needed to see a Urologist. Dr. Shah was notified and approved the request without question and never contacted me to follow up. Since September I have had three surgeries. Dr. Shah approved all the referrals. Her office was well informed of them all. Again Dr. Shah or her office never contacted me with a follow up or message through Texas Health My Chart. Her office was always notified why I had to cancel my two appointments with Dr. Shah. My most recent cancellation was for November 7, 2023, because I was having surgery on November 9, 2023, with the colorectal surgeon. Dr Shah was aware of this surgery also. When I cancelled two appointments with Dr. Shah due to my medical condition, getting a specialty test, having surgeries, and pre-ops. I received a letter dated November 13, 2023, from Dr. Shah stating termination of provider/patient relationship. I'm currently having three upcoming surgeries on December 5, 8, and 18th that Dr. Shah approved the care for. Dr. Shah has given me notice to select another provider in 30 days without prior explanation. In my opinion. If you are a servicemember, military retiree, or veteran with major health problems Dr. Kavita Shah is not right for our servicemen and women. In my opinion Dr. Shah is a "Medical Mill." Basically, it is my opinion, if you're not mostly healthy or if you have severe medical issues or have major medical needs, Dr. Shah is not for you and definitely not for our veterans or servicemembers. This is to protect future possible patients that may consider Dr. Shah to be their provider. Dr. Shah is an internal medicine physician. Internal Medicine Physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults. Dr. Shah has failed miserably."

"After having seen this particular doctor for a while I caught them trying to say they seen me when they did not. When I went in for a visit the next day after confronting them, the doctor had no bedside manner whatsoever. She did not want to hear about everything that was going on. She kept trying to tell me that she did not want to hear all of that. Everything was in regards to my health and she thought that she knew it all. For a person who is supposed to be a primary doctor she definitely does not qualify! I guarantee you there are better options in the area. For an individual to lose 31 lb in 13 days shows no care or concern. Upon checking out the normally Pleasant staff completely gave me and my witness the cold shoulder. Very unprofessional practice!"

"Sends a certified letter to inform you that she will no longer see you as a parent with no reason given. Her P.A. is great but Shah does not listen or try to understand what's going on. She has a bad attitude and argues with everything you tell her, like you don't know what is going on in your own body. Good thing we found a better doctor for the family that actually listens to you and doesn't half ignore you."
