"Update 12/12 Received a genuine concerned call from the manger. He requested as much information to try to resolve and make sure it never happened again. He confirmed additional details and offered a solution. I did revise my stars to 4! Update 12/4/2023: Hate I have to change my ratings from 5 star to 2 or 3. The staff remains amazing. However, we will not be renewing the lease due to the consistent theft from maintenance and lack of accountability their held to. My father was only told they use an outsourced company but no further update as to what they will do about it, filing a complaint, or etc. I don’t play about theft more so from my father!!!! These were sentimental things we got for him and things acquired from trips. They were things that ONLY went missing when they entered. No one else had access to our home! No one… We pay too much money for that. As well, the rent changes month to month and per the budget we set it just moves too far from what we organically signed up for. Great property but at this time we’d have to say goodbye. Hope they keep the same management. That’s about the best part outside of the actual property which is nice. I more can I say about the management and the atmosphere; as well the abundance set at this place. From one of the most amazing leasing agents I’ve met, named Destan. As well, the cool manager and other leasing agent. The maintenance man I met upon move-in when an occurrence happen. I utilized their emergency service no other property ever offered might I add. The maintenance man came out within reasonable time. Turned a headache into a grateful moment. We’re new to the property but I think we’re going to really like/love this place."
"Moved to Houston from Jackson, MS. Saw this place and my boyfriend and I decided this was so us. We both also acquired jobs like 30 minutes away as well. Submitted our application along with the 300.00 application fee etc . Arrived in Houston just to be told that we did not qualify due to we missed the income requirements by 500.00. My question is why no one told us that before our scheduled move in date ?? Matthew and Ariana the manager and assistant manager both are trash know nothing. One individual that was phenomenal was Destin she quit and I see why !!!!! My boyfriend and I have no family in Houston. We had to basically go to a shelter called MISSION OF YAHWEH. We had no money to spend on a hotel. Not to mention our UHAUL is for only two days . Horrible customer service and lack of professionalism. Who takes your 300.00 for an application fee, but forgets to say oh you really DO NOT QUALIFY TO LIVE HERE .Since they dropped the ball in my opinion our 300.00 should have been refunded. Not to mention I am 6 weeks pregnant. Run DO NOT APPLY TO LIVE HERE!!"
"Horrible experience the leasing agents lack communication and people skills they give a rude and nonchalant vibe. No updates very frustrating process. Leasing agent sold me a dream and said to bring in my ID in person. Drove 4 hours from Dallas to bring in my documents when I walked in it was a bad vibe then they requested more documents when I got there. Wound up spending over $1,500 on a hotel, food, and gas. No apologies for wasting my time, money, and energy. Terrible leasing experience. Decided to look elsewhere and found something much better options and leasing people."
"Lived at The Winward from May 2021 - 2023. You get what you pay for here. My apartment was high quality, the location was beautiful, and the place was well maintained by the hard working maintenance crew and landscapers. I passed by these workers a few times a week, and they’re pleasant folks. The office regularly likes to spice things up, hosting various types of socials, running donation drives, putting on monthly photo competitions, giving out free plants, scheduling weekly food trucks, and I’m sure there’s some things I’m missing. It’s inevitable you’ll hit a bump or two living anywhere, but these people really seem to care about making their residents feel as at home as possible. Destan, in particular, is an outstanding leasing agent. Hospitality is just her thing. From day one, she took care of everything that I needed in a friendly, quick, and professional manner. Any time I had to wait to be attended to in the office (which does have a gorgeous lobby), I would see her urgently bouncing around between giving cheerful tours and kindly taking care of other residents, never seeming to lose organization. She truly excels at providing everybody she helps with a good experience. Overall, I would recommend living here. If you’re apartment hunting and trying to find the whole package, it’s hard to do much better than The Winward."
"I've lived here for 5 months. In the beginning, I had a pleasant experience. However, after the person I normally dealt with was let go, anyone else I've had communication with in management has been rude and cold. They act annoyed with you anytime you ask for anything. I have had a SEVERE mold issue in my apartment. They've made ME feel like I'm inconveniencing THEM anytime I try to follow up about the problem. For legal reasons I can't be too specific here but the entire issue was handled unethically and on a personal, human level just very sad. Anyway, I've been living in this unit with mold for weeks while they "made their repairs". They never cleaned the area after said "repairs" and didn't put up any protective guards, which if you know anything about mold, it's dry and dusty and gets all in the air if you touch it. I'm living in a gas chamber at this point. Please keep in mind, we're living in a time where health concerns should be taken more seriously than ever. Anything that effects your immune system can be harmful. It's important to try to maintain your health to be able to fight off any virus or variant thereof going around. Now, imagine, being forced to live in a place that threatens your health and being (and I mean this in the least dramatic was possible. I WISH I could share all details) gaslit about it repeatedly. They've offered no consolation. They never even said "I'm sorry you're having this experience". Extreme lack of empathy and customer service. Again, I can't get into specifics, but they have been highly (to the point of being impressive and almost comical) inappropriate in their approach. All in all, I was thrilled about this community but have been overwhelmingly disappointed. It's very pretty on the outside, but I caution you, it is rotten."
