"I have never experienced a worse place to live. I would take military housing any day over the Palmera. The management is laughable, maintenance is a joke, the pool is always cloudy and gross, walls are thin, packages stolen, pests are rampant, you name it. My apartment flooded a week after I moved in forcing everything from my second room into my dining room and my bedroom. For two months I had a bed, bathroom and kitchen. I asked for management to prorate my rent to a one bedroom rate (considering the delay was because they only marked my outdoor washer/dryer area as affected which caused a month delay in repairs) and was told there is nothing they could do. I left my apartment cleaner than it was the day I moved in but of course received whatever fees they could tack on to my move out. I would not even recommend this overpriced hell hole to my worst enemies. Absolute worst apartments and staff."
"I honestly would not recommend anyone here. Sure it’s a beautiful place to live but behind that beauty is just awful. The gates are broken half the time, maintenance guys tend to lie about doing their job and take their sweet time to even get to you. I put in 3 work orders (as I was told to do) and told them I would be home all month. Not one single person came in, yet they marked it as complete and sent me an email asking, “How did we do? Leave a review”. The first work order I put in was due to mold. I waited a whole month and not a single person came in, so I ended up calling a mold company and payed a lot for that when it could’ve just been done by them if they actually showed up! My brother’s apartment had a pipe burst due to the cold, that completely destroyed his room and washer unit. They have been waiting about 2 weeks for them to fix it, which they have yet to do and because of that, mold has grown all over their walls. They get paid to lie and do nothing I guess. Another thing, if you have dogs I do not recommend living here unless you want a flea infested nightmare that will never end! They do not spray their grounds for fleas. We have spent so much money trying to get rid of them, but it’s an absolute waste of money because they just hop right back on. The only person who did her job and listened to my concerns, even tried helping, was the assistant manager Fran. Other than that, thank god I’m out of that place."
"Here again to say John the maintenance man is by far the best. I appreciate his respect and candor when repairing things in our unit. My elderly mother absolutely loves John as well. So respectful and courteous towards her and me and that is important to me. John comes in and makes sure things are repaired and makes sure we are satisfied with his work. Thank you John for all you do. A whole team of people like John would be phenomenal. Hope he remains a part of the team."
"NTS: Inspect unit thoroughly. My unit has an outdated dishwasher that doesn’t lock, has rust and smeared paint on the exterior. The stove also has rust on the exterior. There are paint splatters on door knobs. Smeared paint on the tiles. The dryer that I rent for $45 monthly is rusted inside, squeaks loudly and takes 2hrs to dry a small load. Not to mention, my pantry cabinets are two different styles. We moved in on November so it’s our first experience with the trash pile up during the holidays. The entry way to the compactor was blocked off from garbage bags from other units. I was advised that there was another entry to the compactor which we weren’t aware of. We were fined $50 for a “box.” Management is fast to fine yet slow to resolve issues. Happy New Year!"
"The office is terrible. They gossip about the tenants. They gossip about each other to the tenants. Then the workers come to your apartment to tell you all the gossip and what is going on with the apartments front office, what they lie about, what they say and the issues they have. They lie about almost everything they can. The apartments are quickly fixed with cheap cleaners and maintenance workers. They cannot keep one maintenance worker or trash company and are always switching. The last one apparently quit because during the winter crisis he was on vacation and the property called him telling him he had to come back immediately or face being fired. When he came back he was promised $15,000 to fix everything the winter storm had caused and when he was done they cheated him out the money! This came from the literal workers here and the entire story was caught on my ring camera. And the catcher: The fees are ridiculous. On top of rent you pay water (with a whole other set of ridiculous fees), trash (that never gets collected, you can only have one trash bag and if it’s too heavy or they don’t want to carry it they won’t take it), not optional parcel package lockers (and Amazon, FedEx and UPS still bring it right to your front door and the packages get stolen because they don’t have cameras and the gates are always broken), a VISA card fee of $36.00 if you pay your rent with a debit or credit card and not ACH, a 10% late fee if you’re late one day and you’ll be served with an evicted on the 10th day no matter what the reason or even if you can pay on the 11th day, and a $75 return payment fee. And when you sign the lease they will tell you “When the lease is up you go on a month-to-month lease!” But that is not the case. If you choose to go on a month-to-month lease, your bill will go up hundreds of dollars mine went from $1375 (base rent $1100 + water and all the fees) to $1980 if I choose a month to month lease after my lease ended. And this is not something that is told to you until your lease is about to be up. They basically force you to sign another long lease, pay extra hundreds of dollars, or move out. Most residents chose to move out. I ended up taking another 15 month lease for $1576 ($1292 base rent + water + fees) simply so my daughter could go to the same school. These are the untold truths about this apartment complex and it’s not even all of it. I will not be resigning this lease. Please just be mindful before moving in here. PS: A lot of these 5 star reviews are from the office staff. Maya used to work at the leasing office & Kristen Russel is the office manager and is still there."
