"I lived here for six years after I was divorced. The apartments are old but the rent is very inexpensive and the apartments are a good size. The maintenance man was always quick in fixing things and nice to talk to. Let's be honest, these are not boujee apartments but if you want to save some money these are an excellent option. The money I saved allowed me to rebuild and travel. The reidel's are honest people. In the end they gave me my security deposit back and gave me prorated rent for the month I left. Just do them right and they will take care of you too."
"Its run down and really old"
"I lived there for about 3 years. The apartments themselves are relatively old. I think were built back in the 1950's by Mr. Riedel who owned a good portion of the real etate in Schertz at that time. There is an old train caboose out front along with an old fire truck. There are mostly low income families living in the complex. It is usually pretty quiet. The apartments themselves have old appliances. No dishwashers. 40% of the apartments only have window AC units. The rest which are on the south side of the complex all have central AC. The layouts of the apartments in the rear of the complex are very non efficient. The water heaters are in the bedroom closet leaving little room for clothing space. The main closet is in the "dining" room. Kitchens are small, with very little cabinet space. There are no lights in the living room. This description only goes for the 6 apartments in the very back of the complex. Ants are a big problem, as well are bugs in general. Maintenance is not the speddiest. The owners would rather him do a batched up job to save money in the short term than for him to do a complete repair or replacement to save even more long term and make it more hospitable for tenants. Rent for a one bedroom is $500 with a $400 deposit that you most likely will not get back. 2 bedrooms are $600 with $500 deposit. The complex site is somewhat trashy at times. Raccoons frequent the dumpsters at night and live in the storage units in the back. Fleas were becoming a problem when I moved out. The owners are nice enough although Nancy can be bitchy at times. Over all I rate it as a 3 because you cannot beat the price in Schertz. Normally apartments are atleast $800 +. I am a single guy and not very high maintenance so living within these conditions wasn't really a big deal for me at the time. If your just needing a roof over your head with AC. Its a great place. If you have a family its not ideal but doable. There is not much room for them to play outside except the parking lot. Which some of the kids do but then you have to constantly with about cars.
