The Kelley at Samuels Avenue

"After The Kelley was acquired by McWhinney, the quality of the property went down significantly. The gym equipment was neglected of maintenance, which resulted in a resident sustaining a life-threatening injury, the office staff had no interest in making interactions with them anything but mediocre at best, the pool was extremely poorly maintained, the entry and exit gates were constantly breaking and open, along with the elevators. The first two years I lived there were fantastic, myself and many other residents that lived there when I moved really enjoyed it. But once McWhinney took over, the experience became less than pleasant to say the least, and I am happy I left. I will NOT be recommending this complex to anyone I know. Thank you."

"We’re in the process of transferring to a bigger unit now that our lease is up. Both Amanda and Omar have been so so nice and helpful with helping us get everything organized and taken care of while transferring units. The staff here now is seriously like night and day from the staff that was working here when we moved in a year ago. Overall, these apartments are great. No complaints!"

"I moved in back in June of 2023. I honestly haven't had any real problems. Maintenance has responded quickly. I feel like management does a good job on fixing things with-in the community. I've used the pool (it can get cloudy, it's a pool, people overusing it, peeing, using lotions can do that). I've used the grill in the Beer Garden and the Firepit. Those worked great. I've used the fitness center, that's also great. I will tell you that I cannot stand that residents put trash outside the doors when it isn't trash pickup day. This is nasty and I have to smell it all weekend. Office staff has always been very nice. The apartments are very nice. Parking can be tight, and YES, they tow, if you follow policy, you will not be towed. They offer covered parking and garages at an additional charge. Some of these reviews are just petty and they do not deserve the negative criticism."

"Honest review of the Kelley! My husband and I have enjoyed our stay at the Kelley. Location location location! Incredible views for the $$! Downsides: The pool is poorly cleaned in the summer, which is unfortunate. Green every week. The front office staff are very guarded when trying to connect/help. (I know customer service can be tough, but not everyone is out to get you). The gym equipment doesn’t get repaired which is a bummer. For our entire stay here the iPad has been “locked out” in the yoga studio which is a bummer... would love to actually have it connect with the tvs for its intended use. Also they have a “printer” in the community area however no ink and the office says they are removing it…however it’s still there with no ink for the past 2 years... (kinda false advertisement) People keep talking about the crime, but my husband and I personally never experienced this in the 2 years we lived here. We’ve also parked on the street almost nightly and haven’t had problems. (Maybe we don’t leave valuables in our cars?) idk. I will say when the complex is at full occupancy it is extremely difficult to find good parking especially if your unit it by the community area. Overall, it’s an apartment and no apartment is perfect.but we have enjoyed our stay here. Place would be 11/10 if the management improved. But overall a decent home for us."

"DO NOT LIVE HERE GET OUT!!!!! Sure the views are amazing, but definitely not worth all the headache. As you scroll through the reviews you see the same issues. No parking, predatory towing, and car windows shattered everywhere. The Kelly apartments charge way too much to be living in a crime infested area. Where car burglary runs rampant in this place, and never park in the street!!!!! I lived in the Kelly apartments for 2 years 2021-2023, and dealt with all the issues listed above. Management is horrible and never give you corporates number, always the runaround. Save yourself the trouble and live somewhere else. Had my new vehicle towed the day after I bought it on a Sunday morning!!!! Before even given a chance to register the vehicle at the office. Sure the apartment complex looks nice, but not safe whatsoever. If I could prevent somebody from going through all these troubles this review was worth typing."
