"Ronbel investments just bought the apartment complex I currently live in. The rules we had working for us for years were taken away. Now our complex is looking like a disaster. No rules meaning everyone doing whatever they want. This is unacceptable but what can we do? I can’t begin to imagine what’s to come with all the changes. I surely hope they don’t hire our rent."
"You think that change of management/owner improves the character of staff when operating a Multi-Family Business. That is not the case for this New Management. The attitude they provide on a phone call is unacceptable. To have to talk to unprofessional people that don’t know the number #1 rule in business is Customer Service is the reason no one should live there and never deal with a management like this one."
"Poor management, the owner never sends management to fix anything in your apartment and they find any reason just to keep your deposit. In “Del Prado” apartment complex there is mold on the air vents. The prices to rent in one of their apartments is ridiculously expensive just for them not to give proper management to their tenants. One of the neighbors there had their toilet bowl broken for more than 3 months and they never fixed it for them. They violate your contract terms and charge you wrongfully. Never fixed the washers and dryers in the laundry room, none of them work and they still advertise their apartments have a working laundry mat. They don’t care about their tenants at all. Each tenant had a numbered parking spot and he later removed the assigned parking spots and made them free for all. The apartment quality is very low, the kitchen counter lifted easily it was not properly secured. The property was never properly fumigated, there was bugs inside the cabinets (Images attached). The only time that management was sent to “fix” a leak from the apartment upstairs they left it cheaply done. The owner Aaron is very unprofessional."
"From my own experience, I have rarely had any issues in the almost two years of being here. I have not used the accommodations (public pools, gym), though I can say that the pool is usually cleaned during the warmer seasons, and not as often during the colder months when not in use. I haven't seen "green water" as much as others claim, but to say it hasn't happened would not be true; it is for the most part a rare occurrence. From what I've seen, the gym is a bit lacking in equipment (given its size), but the treadmill and free weights is what most people might generally use. There is also a lavatory inside, so that is nice and complimentary to have. Pros: The location is in the middle of Laredo, so it's easy to get to places quickly, especially the mall, supermarkets, or even the new gym and hospital for those interested. The price of rent also seems worth what you get. The apartments look great, with high ceilings, all tile floors, and ample closet space, alongside friendly front desk services and maintenance staff. It took 2 weeks to get my washer fixed, and 1 week to get a leaking shower head replaced, so the wait time was not terrible considering how there are likely others ahead of me who also need servicing. I have rarely had pest encounters, so there have been no notable infestation issues, with the exception of tiny fruit flies due to, well, fruits. It is generally quiet, and I have never had any problems with sound going through walls, though sometimes there are small get-togethers outside that get a bit rowdy, specifically in the pool. Also, you're able to have pets, though for an additional fee. Speaking of which, there are trash cans in the small lawns for pet owners to dispose of their dogs waste, so that's nice to see. Cons: While the location itself is beneficial for quick travels, it is also next to a neighborhood that is downright shady. There is only a fence dividing the entirety of the apartment, though that does not stop potential opportunists from crossing over to find easy takings. While the exit gate is at times functional, the gated entrance to the apartment complex is also for the most part usually open, so that has been an on and off issue for quite a while. There are many cameras aimed down at the parking lot, though they don't exactly have high-res capabilities, especially given the poor lighting of the drive thru at night. Just avoid leaving valuables and unlocked car doors, and that should help in deterring any unwanted attention. All in all, aside from the glaring security issues, I would recommend this location if you're living by yourself. Super nice staff, close proximity to the mall and supermarkets, a quiet environment, and amenities make this place worthwhile. Though while I personally feel like the pet fees are a bit demanding, some people may find it worthwhile, as a lot of complexes are not pet friendly. At the time of writing, I would definitely give this a 8 or 9 / 10 rating."
"Rented a two bedroom for $895 a month no pet. Initially received a set of four keys to our apartment yet only one worked. One of the reasons we got this apartment is because of the washer/dryer combo and yet they didn't work and took a month for it to get replaced. If you do decide to rent here, make sure you clarify about hanging pictures on the walls because its $75 per microscope hole they have to "repaint" and an additional $200 for general cleaning. The pool gets cleaned once a week, so if you like swimming in a GREEN pool Villa Dorada is your destination. The perimeter gates to secure the facility rarely functioned. The chatter from the hallways would amplify like crazy; you can ease drop on people's conversation since the walls are thin. Gym was ok, no one works out so that was a plus. The surrounding neighborhood always had a crowd passed 1:00 am. So you would have drunks scream their emotions. If I knew then what I experienced now, I would of never of rented here. If I were to pay close to a grand a month for an two bed room apartment I would chosen elsewhere."
