"We love these trails (off-road and paved). I've been here a few times, with kids, dogs, bikes, scooters, wagons, strollers, family+ friends. There are endless trails with lots of different elements (I've also done a 10k footrace on the mountain bike trails) and a beautiful flowing creek. I would be cautious at certain times with the mountain bikers if you have off-leash dogs or kids. Otherwise it's a wonderful place especially with the nearby pool and playground for the kiddos (see my other review for the playgrounds)."
"Parking - there are two large parking lots, very close to each other. However, this is a very popular trail and park. so finding a spot in the afternoons can be a challenge. Trail - there is a completely paved 3 mile out and back trail (6 mi RT) connecting Walnut Creek Park to Balcones park. There are also multiple parts through the woods that join the paved trail. There is also a small hi section for biking/walking. Lots of smaller trails to go down to the creek as well. The entire trail is dog friendly with off leash areas down by the creek. We saw several friendly dogs of leash on the side trails, and several others, like our own, kept on leash. We also saw deer! It’s a beautiful path to walk or bike. There are several apartment buildings that open up and join the trail - lucky them! Creek - quite low water levels, Despite the recent rain but understandable given harsh droughts over the last couple of years. It’s also sad to see a lot of plastic that gets stuck on trees by the creek. Overall, a wonderful outdoor space to spend an afternoon."
"I feel pretty safe parking here, but the dog poo on the trails is terrible. I'm rating the area itself 5 stars because I come from Houston and I love the topography of Austin, but there is dog poo everywhere on the trails. I drive my R/C crawler trucks on the rocks along the trails so sometimes you're in a certain area for an extended time. That's when the dog poo smell starts creeping in on you. It's gross! I have two dogs myself, and they didn't come with me on this trip, but I make sure I pack their poo out of the trail with me! Other than that, there are some really pretty spots and shaded trails. It was nice and hot outside so a lot of people were off the trails, which was nice."
"This Trail/ Park area is absolutely beautiful in the spring time, or at any time of the year. I love Walking & Jogging on all the different paved paths and dirt/bike trails. Great place to get some exercise, take the dog, ride a bike or just to get out and enjoy some outdoor fun! I would definitely recommend this Trail/ Park area for anyone, of any age, looking for any outdoor fun. Plus it has a HUGE Off Leash Dog area for your Four Legged Furry Friends to run around and play at! Also, super fun and relaxing to go chill and wonder around in. :)"
"Great place for hiking, mountain biking or just strolling with your pup's. I enjoy the fossil indentations and the new paved trail."
