ATX Cocina
About the Business
ATX Cocina, located at 110 San Antonio Street in Austin, Texas, is a modern Mexican restaurant that pushes the boundaries of traditional cuisine. Our dishes are elevated with innovative techniques and approaches, using corn as the foundation of our kitchen. We source our masa from heirloom varieties of corn grown by small family farms in Mexico, nixtamalizing and processing it in-house.
Our menu is a blend of traditional Mexican flavors with a contemporary twist, meant to be shared in a communal dining experience. The bar offers organic agaves, curated tequilas and mezcals, hand-shaken margaritas, craft cocktails, freshly-squeezed juices, and a selection of wine and beer.
We pride ourselves on using natural, clean ingredients in our dishes, including high-quality seafood, chicken, and beef. Our focus is on authentic tastes and flavors of Mexico, using non-GMO maize, beans, and chilies. Join us at ATX Cocina for a unique and inspired dining experience that celebrates the origin of Mexican cuisine. Remember to dress appropriately as we value a certain level of decorum during service.

"ATX is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants. The staff, food, drinks, setting, etc are always impeccable. I have had a great experience every time, and nothing disappoints. I look forward to going to this restaurant. The new Crab Relleno is one of the best foods I’ve ever eaten; and I get the sopes every time. Highly recommend!"
"Pretty creative assortment of dishes on the menu here. The intended ordering style is to get a couple plates for the whole table to share, and I think that works well for getting to try more types of food. The salmon was my favorite - buttery soft inside with a crispy outside layer. All the accompaniments pair well too, especially the mezcal peaches. I end up getting brussel sprouts at almost every restaurant I go to now, but this one was special as it’s layered with some chorizo at the bottom. A couple dishes had a kick to them (thanks to the chiles) so be careful if you’re sensitive to spice as there’s no menu indication."
"My partner and I visited ATX Cocina on our trip to Austin for a weekend getaway. We are use to great food in Los Angeles and had no expectations before visiting— we also had no idea what to expect. First off— our server Taylor set the bar SO high for other servers. She was a complete delight. She has worked at the restaurant for 5-6 years, was patient with us, listened so well, and educated us completely about both food and drinks. We found our favorite margs, and the best sides/apps, and completed our evening without even tapping into the entrees. The portions of the sides were unreal (highly recommend the creamy corn and Brussels). Chips and salsa were killer (not on the menu), and we also ordered the Sopes (hard to describe but unbelievably flavorful pork/bean stuffed taco shells), and the Machete (chicken stuffed quesadilla). Also highly recommend the ATX marg, and the house marg— spicy and skinny. 10/10 experience. 10/10 food. And man— 11/10 service. Round of applause for Taylor!!!"
"Love ATX Cocina! The interior design is to die for: there are various seating groupings and partial partitions breaking up the dining room into smaller, more intimate seating areas. The food is always consistent and absolutely delicious. The Kale Ceasar is the BEST Ceasar salad in Austin as is the Guacamole. The fish is always fresh and prepared just right. The cocktails are fantastic: never too sweet nor too sour. We always bring out of town guests to ATX Cocina. The service is always the best from bartenders to servers and of course the GM. We will definitely be coming back for more. As promised, we came back for more."
"Thoroughly impressed! Wanted to try this place for a while bc I could smell the delicious cooking whenever I was near the restaurant. Usually booked up for reservations and now I see why. The food was packed with flavor, unique dishes, care and thoughtfulness in the presentation and flavor combinations. Can’t remember waiters name (tall, beard) walked us through every aspect of the menu and was extremely knowledgeable. Every dish was delicious. Fabulous experience and HIGHLY recommend."
