"Good selection of cigars at reasonable prices. Clean lounge for relaxing. Being located inside a convenience store/gas station is a plus..."
"Friendly folks, good selection of cigars a big plus, good prices too. Theres a smoking lounge area currently under renovation. Be glad when it opens up again."
"Very disappointed in the rudeness of management (Meche) even to her employees when asking about cigar prices. Bad customer service is the worst!!! I won't be spending any more there go to cigar international if you need a great environment."
"Bottom line it's a bargin basement Buckee's selling cigars. And no, you wouldn't expect to see that at a gas station. So, when I found it looking for cigar shops in far north Houston I didn't know what to expect. Again, it was a gas station with a large banner on the building that said "Elite Cigars" not a cigar store on the service road of the I-45 North frwy. Once inside I look over to my left and see not a humidor cabinet, but an actual dark wood and glass walk in humidor. Impressive. But, once at the door, I pause to read the fine print "due to FDA regulations were increasing our prices...". No bueno! This is the part of the horror movie, where the old man tells you I wouldn't stop the night at "murder motel". I ventured in and it was indeed a legit walk in humidor. Longer than wider, I noticed it was crowded due the placement of wide metal rolling racks to put more product in the middle of the room. This added to the cramped feel, but its a humidor, not an department store. I notice all the staple premium brands, and some hard to find like Graycliff (from Jamaica) along with roadkill sticks you've never heard of. They had almost whatever you smoked: from RyJ, Padron, Fuente, etc. But, there was something off, I just could put my finger on it-remember the warning from the old man. I find out they've been up and running since May 2019. Shelves are full and people dropped in and grabbed a handful and left in under 2 minutes. Apparently, it a known spot. So, the prices of a gas station selling premium brands? No different than your BM. So what I ask myself was the draw? Answer, #1 convenience, Spec's was on the other side of the interstate (but a hassle to get to), #2 low end trappings that made you feel you were getting a deal (none to be found) and #3 a larger selection than you BM (looks like it). So, I bought to of the bundle sticks for $2.29 to gauge what we were dealing with: a barber pole churchill and a Maduro churchill. The barber pole I smoke ltr that night and it wasn't me. The Maduro came out of the plastic wrapper cracked, dried out with a paper thin wrapper. It had no flavor and was difficult to keep lit. A dog rocket, if I ever saw one. So, I'm very cautious if I'm going to step up and pay $7+ for the premium cigars that are well care for a d may not be humidified well. The lounge was actually nice, spacious, comfortable old leather chairs, but it looked neglected. Great bones though, but in need of an upgrade and some care, but serviceable. It was a great quote spot with a nice TV to watch sports and music. One bonus was despite the humidor being closed from 11pm to 6am, you could ask the gas station staff to unlock it and purchase stick: so, it virtually 24 hrs. While a good drive from me, I don't think I'll be back. I can not recommend Elite Cigars as a good spot to purchase cigars-yet?"
