Clarion Inn near McAllen Airport 1401 South 10th Street, McAllen, TX 78501

"I’m hoping this motel is being renovated (although there were no signs of construction) because the rooms in the pictures are NOT what they give you. This is the absolute worst room I’ve stayed in which is not an exaggeration. The first thing we noticed was there was no curtain on the window then we noticed the dirty tile on the floor. The ironing board had no pad or cover, you need to wear socks in the shower, there was no tp holder, no towels, the bed squeaked and the tv remote was broken. When we asked for a different room, it had carpet (which stunk) and was in just as bad condition. I would have happily book elsewhere but we were in a block of rooms and the rest of the family didn’t want to leave because it was a good price. The front desk seemed bothered by our request for towels and when we asked for a bedspread to cover the window, they gave us a twin mattress pad. Run from this place."

"Upon arrival, I was surprised by the required $40 deposit that I now have to wait 3-5 days to get back. There is no elevator & even though I reserved a 1st floor room, none were available when we arrived. Walking through the hall, on my way to the room, the hallways was littered with trash from all the rooms. The smell was foul. Our room looked dirty & thek bed smelled like the sheet hadn't been washed. We had to call down to the front desk to get a remote control & it felt intrusive to have the front desk staffer come in to program the remote. The door to the bathroom did not latch. The iron in the room did not work. There was urine in the toilet. When we called down to the front desk, we got no answer. We tried several times & nothing, so we had to go downstairs to complain. There was nobody manning the front desk. All in all, it was a terrible experience. I will never be back to this hotel. The Super 8 across the street looked better, cleaner and quieter."

"The hotel had excellent service. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was exceptional. The staff was great and our stay was well worth the price. We will definitely visit again."

"The bathroom was very dated and quite worn. There were roaches present in the bathroom. Additionally, some black mold along the ceiling in the bathroom. The bed linens were clean. The bath towels also were, although no bath mat was present which made for a slippery floor. This is an affordable option but frankly, these issues were not acceptable. Look elsewhere for more acceptable lodging."

"This room was clean and an excellent price. The hotel has nice and modern decor. It includes breakfast in the morning and all the amenities needed. My daughter loved the room and had a blast just playing away. Central to the city and around all the major shopping centers. Very comfortable stay, this is definitely now my "go to" hotel for visiting McAllen."
