"I had a tour scheduled for 12:30 that was set up over a week in advance. They texted/emailed me multiple times to confirm my appointment- including an hour beforehand at 11:30. When I got there at 12:30 there was no one there and the doors were all locked. I called and texted multiple times over a 20 min span- no one answered the phone or texts. A resident walking by told us they have a separate leasing office in an apartment around the corner, so we went to that one as well and again- doors locked and no one there. Extremely unprofessional and downright rude. What a waste of time. edit: the raggedy heifers who work here need to be fired. as you can see from their reply, they called me back after standing me up. said their scheduling manager was down & they were super apologetic over the phone & offered me a discounted rate. i agreed to reschedule since the person i spoke with told me she would PERSONALLY be there to give me the tour. she even emailed me beforehand saying they were getting the unit ready….. guess what y’all: i got stood up AGAIN. arrived at my scheduled tour time to a locked building and no human in sight. does anyone actually work here??? how can they possibly run a leasing office when no one is ever AT WORK?? would give 0 stars if i could"
"The new lady’s in the office is doing a great job with improving the apartment buildings and the up keep of the property. They are doing great things for the residents like fixing everything that needs to be fixed in the apartment, putting up lights to make it brighter when it’s dark, fixing the laundry room and they also have a lot of big things coming soon. Check them out."
"I write very few reviews of any place. But I really felt I needed to warn people away from Vines. I lived here 1997-2001 in an apartment. Recently I have moved out after living here again, in an apartment, 4 years. The place had deteriorated before we moved in the second time. But it has gotten even worse these past 4. Common areas have declined: no pool, no tennis courts, poor to no yard maintenance, grills are now banned on your patio. And with others, I also had my rent check stolen from their mail box. I had to file a police report and there was no apology from management. I could go on and on about the place. Avoid living here at all costs. If you have no other options, I warned you. Blessings on finding someplace else!"
"Starting this off by saying RENTER BEWARE. While living here, we had several issues. Management changed at least 4 times within the span of our occupation. Getting ahold of anyone on site proved to be extremely difficult a majority of the time, as they would either not be in the office, or the phone line would direct us to the office based in Utah. We had put in a maintenance request for the shower for a year. Every time, maintenance would cancel the request. We would then call and resubmit the request, and whoever was managing at the time told us it would get taken care of. The shower was never looked at. Instead, for an entire year, maintenance would consistently cancel the request. Speaking of maintenance, when we first moved in and needed something taken care of, the maintenance man left muddy boot prints all over the apartment. One of the ceiling light fixtures was also not properly screwed in, causing it to fall and shatter all over the floor. We are lucky no one was nearby! Maintenance then lost a copy of our key, and so they came to the door (not in uniform) to ask to borrow my key so they could go make a copy of it and bring it back. Um, excuse me?? When I called the manager to complain, she told me that was perfectly normal. No it isn't!! I refused to hand over my key, so they changed the locks. On top of the extremely sketchy nature of that incident, maintenance tried to enter our apartment several times without advance notice and without knocking. I confronted them every single time, and they would always say they must have gotten the wrong unit. Can you not read the number on the door? Upon move in, there were cockroaches everywhere. Clearly the apartment had not been properly cleaned before we moved in, because I found used dental floss on the bathroom counter, and tape in the kitchen that had a dead cockroach on it. Oh, but the cleaning? The lease states you have to clean the apartment yourself, even though they're going to charge you a $180 cleaning fee anyway. At the time our security deposit was $200. So, dont expect to get it back! They will take your nonrefundable pet deposit and monthly pet payments and not use it to pay for the cleaning themselves. When I called to ask about the cleaning fee, I was told every tenant receives this fee regardless. Let's also not forget how they literally do not care about your safety. While we lived there, there was nonstop gun violence for a few months. I woke up several times to gunshots outside my bedroom window! But management would not allow us to break our lease, stating that it was a "city issue, not our issue." Excuse me?? There was always trash, everywhere. Whether in the grass or inside the main entrance to the building, it was messy. I witnessed a box of takeout food sitting on the steps for so long it was growing mold. The audacity to charge that much for rent but have all of these issues was insulting. So rent here if you want to. As for us, we are glad to be gone."
"Ughhh I'm never one to post reviews unless it's a legit issue but vines at shelby crossing upsets me so much. There's constantly no hot water and I work night shift. This has been an issue for the past 2 weeks which is crazy to me there are families with children, pets, and babies here. We've had no hot water several times during other seasons that would last 2 days but these past few weeks is the longest we've had this issue. On my off days hot water comes through sporadically which is so inconvenient. I'd rather have hot water when I actually have to go to work which is at night. Why have no hot water at all? Who wants to wash dishes and shower in freezing cold water?? Management never updates or replies to emails. I agree with recent reviews. There's roaches, black bugs in kitchen, and mold. The buildings are run down. I never see the pools open duing summer. I never see maintenance outdoors like fences need major PAINT updates which should be on management/shelby crossing to pay for because it is OUTDOORS. HOA fees are ridiculous. They increased fees months ago.It is not tenants FAULT that there are water leaks in the pipe system causing the building water fees to skyrocket. These buildings, pipes, and foundation are SO old. All these issues are for many years that never got 100% fixed and maintained. These buildings are neglected. I do not recommend buying condos or renting here. You will encounter issues and it will be a waste of your precious time and money."
