"I took my son here for 3.5 years before moving, and overall it was very good experience where I felt my child was safe and cared for. The facilities are a little older than other options in the area, but they were always clean (and have just started to renovate). They did experience some rocky turnover with staff at one point, and namely Directors (and to be honest, I wasn't crazy about the 1st one), which garnered some transitions with communication, but I think Ms. Karla (1 year-ish in now) has been a good influence and has brought some better structure to the school. My son loved his teachers, namely Ms. Rachel, Ms. Desiree, Ms. Beatriz, and Ms. Valeria. Education level was also great, and my son has received various compliments on his knowledge at his age. The only criticism I would give is that I wish the parent-teacher conferences were a little more structured in their approach, and the extra curricular classes offered there, I rarely saw pictures or updates on any of them, which led me to taper back on using. Overall I would recommend and take my son here again. They will always hold a soft spot in my heart."
"Our family has been very pleased with the recent changes at Montessori Children's Cottage. They have two centers, an infant center and what we refer to as the "big kids school" for toddlers and up. In 2022 they have made quite a few changes that have been a very positive experience for our family. My son has attended Montessori Children's Cottage since he was 6 months old (now 4 yrs.) My daughter has attended since she was 12 weeks old. The location is an older building, but is is filled with caregivers pouring love, guidance, and learning opportunities into our kids. Choosing day care is a difficult choice for parents, if you are reading this review you are perhaps trying to do all the research to find the "perfect place." My advice is to find a place where you can build community among fellow parents, communicate well with the teaching staff and directors and watch your children learn and grow in a safe environment. Their are no perfect children and no perfect day cares, but MCC has been the perfect place for our family."
"We started off in this daycare when both my children were newborns. The ladies at the infant center and are really good but once you get to the pre-school is where the problem really lies. Most of the activities done in class which are sent home are done/ completed by the teachers giving you a false sense of how your child is doing. Ever since we have been at a different place, I understand where my kids strengths and weaknesses lie. The classrooms also once you get to the pre-school is very crowded and you child is just a number. Ms. Rosemund who used to be the director was a true trailblazing leader and did a clean-up of the pre-school and made positive changes. Ms. Nikole although new to the position understood how to accommodate children and helped us with our son. Ms. Karla Larson who they hired when they left unfortunately was not a good fit for us. Since they could not accommodate my 3-4 year old sons hyperactivity in the pre-school they put him in a 1 year old class- which brought about quite a regression in behavior. Ms. Karla also tried to provide me with a diagnosis of my child (ABA therapy) without being licensed in the field. He has been diagnosed through professionals and her recommendations were absolutely incorrect. The other place we have been at has been able to accommodate his high cognitive abilities and cater activities to his strengths while working on his abilities. There are not enough people to look after the kids, my kids also came home almost every few days with scratches, bumps and bruise and when I emailed Ms. Larson through the school email to find out what happened, and my email was ignored. This is not a true Montessori, there are better daycares out there. Everyone’s experiences are different, but this was our experience. I took my time to write this review after we left to since I wanted to see how my experience with the other place would be. Definitely a lot more positive than our experience at the Montessori Childrens cottage, which I am sad to say ended horribly with them lot letting him attend when I went to drop him off one day although we were paid up for the month. They have also not issued us a refund."
"I agree that the building could use some renovation but so far we have been having a wonderful experience with the school and staff. My daughter is 8 months old now and started daycare 4 months ago. As a first time mom I am always concerned about everything so I am constantly calling, texting or messaging through the app to know check on her and so far everybody has been pretty responsive and understanding! My child loves coming to school and that means we made a great decision in signing up for MCC!"
"Our child has been coming to Montessori Children's Cottage for one year. Within the year we’ve experienced the Montessori Children's Cottage has a high staff turnover and poor communication or lack thereof. We had the experience of three different directors within the year. There is no classroom structure or order my child was bitten and scratched on his face and neck. We never received an incident report or any type of communication from the teacher or director in regards to this matter. Montessori Children's Cottage has an unsafe environment for children and we highly do NOT recommend you send your children here."
