Kentucky Horse Park Campground

"This campground is our home away from home! The peace and serenity that it offers is beyond my ability to describe. Beautiful scenery and lots of activities! The staff are friendly and the campground store is exceptional. We camp primitive which is hard to find in other campgrounds. Check out the Legacy Trail, such a nice amenity. Pool is HUGE!"

"Though it was February, we arrived at the grounds at 5:30 p.m., and everything was closed. That said, no service or stay here. Can't rate on anything else except limited operation hours. There was activity throughout the grounds and the place looked great. Will update ratings when able to actually stay."

"We have come to the Southern Lights every year for 20 years. Was always my favorite family activity. This year was so disappointing. Price goes up and activities go down. The train display has shrunk, the lights are old, and the vendors are gone. Every year I would get my kids a personalized ornament that tradition is gone. Idk how much longer this display can maintain and that is sad."

"We are RVers and this is my new favorite campground. We stayed in spot 160C and it was fantastic with lots of space in the back. Entire campground is gorgeous, clean, and everyone was so friendly. Lots of big beautiful trees. The campground store had everything we needed, laundromat was clean, and our kids loved the playground. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved the discounted camper rate to get into the theme park. Horse park itself was also a fantastic experience. We truly didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend. (note: there was a long line for the dump station so be aware of that, but that’s also just part of camping. Not the campground’s fault!)"

"Fairly large campground arranged in side by side concentric ovals. The asphalt pad is barely wider than an RV. Some sites are shadier than others, some have shade except for late afternoon and you have to move around to avoid sun. Sites next to the main Access road will see a lot of traffic, and sites near the playground and tennis courts could be noisier than other sites. Easy access to Lexington and surrounding areas, and you get a discount to visit the adjacent Kentucky Horse Park. For some reason the women's bathroom was closed to cleaning every morning at 8AM. Friendly camp host during our stay."
