Reviews of The Element Apartment Homes
"Beautiful & well maintained apartments!"
"Excellent property. Management is responsive and professional. 10 out of 10 recommend! Great place to live!"
"I visit someone there. Their rent seriously went up when the old owner passed, not to mention they hit you for extra money for everything. The $750 rent with utilities included basically pans out to around $1200 for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment."
"My husband and I lived at the Element for a year. Overall, if you can afford to live here, go find somewhere else to live because there are better options for a similar price in Lexington. PROS: - Location is close to the mall, Target, restaurants, New Circle Road, Nicholasville Road -- super convenient, as long as you don't mind the traffic, which gets crazy at times. - Stainless steel appliances, if that's a priority for you. CONS: - Management is terrible. My husband and I lived in the complex for one year and had THREE different managers. Communication is pretty much nonexistent except for when it comes to reminding people to pay their rent. Maintenance requests go ignored for weeks & months at a time. The one maintenance guy they do have is questionable. - Walls are insanely thin. During our time there, we frequently heard conversations that our neighbors had. We had neighbors who lived above us that had a small dog (probably about 15 pounds at most) and we could hear him walking around upstairs every day. Yes, the walls are that thin. We also heard our neighbors walking loudly upstairs every single day - not their fault - the walls are just THAT thin. - We lived on the first floor and had to deal with rainwater flooding our carpeted bedroom twice. Both times, we had to move our mattress & sleep in the living room until maintenance took care of the issue. The first time it happened, maintenance said to call right away if it happens again, so the next time it happened we called the EMERGENCY maintenance number promptly at 9PM. All they said was to put a towel over the carpet until they could come in the morning. What’s the point of having an emergency maintenance number if they don’t actually take care of emergencies? We ended up pulling the carpet back to fan it out with our OWN fan and we found mold underneath. When we told the current apt manager (Jennifer, the third one we've had so far), she said, "It's just mold. Mold is everywhere honey.” My husband asked if SHE would like to sleep two feet away from mold with a fan blowing, and she said nothing, proceeding to divert the conversation. - Our neighbors upstairs found a mouse in their home at some point. They told us that when they asked the office about pest control, the office said that they were not "on the list for pest control" because they did not ask to be put on the list -- even though everyone in the complex is charged a monthly pest control fee. What? - I don't know what happens in the apartments towards the back of the complex, but I saw a police/sheriff car back there numerous times while living at the Element. I did not feel safe walking my dog at night. Definitely saw a couple of drug deals where wads of cash and baggies were handed between cars. - Dog poop EVERYWHERE. People are LAZY and don’t pick up after their dogs, which made walking my dog a nightmare. I’ve stepped in dog poop while walking my dog and I constantly had to worry that my dog was going to get worms from another dog’s poop. I could say more but I'll stop here. The apartment is insanely mismanaged. I hate to be this ruthless but it’s the honest truth. Unless Brookside Properties gets some serious help, they will continue to drive tenants away."
"This is a great place to live. The location is great, the interior is completely renovated with brand new name brand appliances. Lots of green space if you have a dog and they are very pet friendly. It is also very quiet for being so close to Nicholasville road, but the best part of living here is the staff. They have been incredibly helpful and available anytime I’ve needed anything. Apartment living isn’t perfect and problems are going to happen anywhere, but the office staff and maintenance have always been able to help me get any issues I’ve had resolved quickly. If I didn’t have to relocate for work I would have stayed at element until I was ready to buy a house. I can’t imagine a better place to rent a one bedroom apartment in Lexington."
