About the Business
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest, located at 3413 10th Street in Lubbock, Texas, is dedicated to keeping families close during their child's serious illness or injury. The institution provides families with the stability and resources needed to support their children through difficult times, offering a warm shelter in the storm. Whether families need to stay nearby to support a hospitalized child, afford to stay together in an unfamiliar city during treatment, or receive basic medical care in a vulnerable community, RMHC of the Southwest is there to help.
Through programs such as Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, the institution assists families in coping with the uncertainty, confusion, and fear of having a sick child. Additionally, RMHC of the Southwest offers grants and scholarships to support those in need.
One way to support RMHC of the Southwest is by dropping off aluminum cans and pop tabs at the Ronald McDonald House, contributing to the "Keeping families close" initiative. These donations provide additional support for families with children receiving medical care, benefiting both the environment and RMHC.
For families facing the challenge of preparing food while caring for a sick child, RMHC of the Southwest invites individuals or groups to help by preparing meals for Ronald McDonald House guests. By offering a "home-away-from home" for families with critically ill or injured children, RMHC of the Southwest strives to provide comfort and support during difficult times.

"We stayed there with my son and daughter in law for a month to help them out and we could not have done it if it was not for the Ronald McDonald house! Awesome place and people!"
"They provided such a wonderful service for my family! I could not have had a better experience. I will be donating my time and money in the future!"
"In the UMC NICU with my daughter. Ronald Mcdonald House made it easy to be here, == and gave us what we needed. Sense it was close to Thanksgiving, they also gave us a bag of goodies (teddy bear, blanket, book, and others) it was all very appreciated and made it easier while being there."
"Now that I am home and thinking of The Ronald McDonald house! I just want to say thank you for all your help and making us feel at home! You made our 39 days from being away from home a lot easier. Being in the hospital and away from home can be very stressful, but with a great atmosphere and a wonderful staff that makes you feel like family, can really help make the process a lot more easier! Thank you for a wonderful room, giving us a meal, and tasty treats to eat, all the events we were invited to, a homey environment, and just overall making us feel welcomed! I’d say all your staff is a awesome group of people, but one lady that particularly stuck out for us was MaryHellen! Thank you for giving us the ropes around, your talks, your guidance, and your positive energy. Keep up the good work, you all are really a life changing charity. I can’t thank you enough! God bless you all! ❤️"
"My daughter was born early and had to be in the NICU for a month I was able to be with her bcus of this. I stayed 2 weeks on a recliner bedside to my daughter then the other 3 when i found out about this. The people who donate to this food wise are amazing. My daughter was born in october so halloween and thanksgiving were spent in lubbock with her. There was treats for days. And dinner was always available bcus of local community who came and cooked. My insurance paid the stay at RMDH. This was my second home . I would be at covenant from 9 am until dinner time I would go to the RMDH then back to hospital til 11p.m every day. The staff was friendly . My insurance could pay for a hotel room as well but I enjoyed this bcus my kids and husband would come on the weekends . I kept up with the room and was given a gift bag from local donors. The donors make this place great. Im not talking about money wise but the trunk or treators , the people who gave my kids a holiday during hard times. The people who took the time out of their day to prepare us families a meal. Yall are amazing and appreciated!"
