"This salon does Not welcome black people. Please know that I was treated with great disrespect. They made it very clear that I was not welcome there. Below is a text message I received from the owner: Good morning Jasette, we will no longer be accepting your reservations at Paloma. Your future appointments have been canceled. There are many salons in Houston and we are confident you can find a salon to meet your needs. Thank you."

"Horrible service. The first photo is for the first time I went there. It seems like a person without experience did my nails. I called them and they scheduled an appointment to change the color, I went to my appointment on time but the nail technician, I think her name is Christine, made me wait 20 minutes. When she was doing the change of color she was extremely rude, I even left with a finger bleeding. The next day one nail was already chipped. I don't recommend going there, it is expensive and not worth it."

"For the price, I'd expect more. I booked a threading service earlier in the week for a Saturday morning. I received a text 18 minutes before my appointment saying that my technician was running late and asking me to arrive later. I didn't see the text because I was already en route and my phone was in drive mode. When I arrived, the front desk let me know that my tech was running late and that a text was sent to me. Since I was already there, the front desk lady said she would check on an update for me and retreated to the back. Another client walked in and front desk person attended to her and did not acknowledge me or provide an update. After a few minutes, I had to ask for an update. This kind of peeved me because if you say you're going to follow up on something for a client, you should update them... I asked if I could reschedule because my partner was waiting in the car and a 15-minute delay + ~10 minutes of threading is kind of a long time to be waiting in a car. After my proposition to reschedule, they were able to squeeze me in between manicure clients. Since I was squeezed in, there was hardly assessment and consultation involved in my threading and it overall felt super rushed. Also, no handwashing between nail care (think nail dust from filing) and threading right by my eyes. I'm bummed I paid $40 for top-tier service and received anything but. My brow tech was nice and all, but the way this salon runs feels overbooked and understaffed. I will be doing my threading elsewhere."

"Paloma is the best non toxic salon in the city, you can’t go wrong with any of the nail techs here but I’ve been seeing Thanh bi monthly for the last two years and not only is she incredibly detailed; she works magic! I came in one session with a broken nail that was a rip away from breaking, I managed to keep it in tact with a Bandaid knowing that Thanh would save the length and my nails with her magic touch. I was so grateful because I had a modeling gig and needed to keep my hands looking clean. Forever grateful to her!"

"I’ve been seeing Thanh for manicures and pedicures every two weeks for a couple years and she does an amazing job. She’s very detailed and thorough. My shellac manicure always lasts at least 10 days and the massage during the signature pedicure is so relaxing."
