"Went to South Austin Dental yesterday for the first time and had an excellent experience!! Dr. Matthysse was great, understood my needs and took the time to answer all of my questions. Did not push some extreme "treatment plan" on me as so many other dentists do. Susan the hygienist was one of the best I have ever been treated by. She could not have been nicer or more thorough!! Highly recommend them."

"I needed a second opinion after being tortured and overcharged (long story) by the one my insurance covers, they worked me in when I took my mom in for her appt. Gave me some honest answers and advice regarding what my dentist in Missouri did (not my dentist much longer, if ever!) Staff does their best to be professional while very personable and that was my experience today. "As someone who is HIGHLY dental phobic, I can sincerely say that this dental practice is the absolute best. Dr. Evan is so amazing!! Not only is he very kind and gentle in nature, his compassion for the comfort and ease of his patients is something I hadn't experienced before. In the midst of the work I was having done, I still had some areas of sensitivity and he was so patient with me and it was his first concern to stop and add additional numbing just to ensure my comfort. His hygienists he has on staff are stellar. Being phobic, I have avoided the routine care, so I had quite a bit of tartar build up. Instead of judging me, I was met with understanding and the hygienist expressed actual excitement of being able to to perform the deep cleansing as she stated, "helping me achieve healthier oral conditions and habits pleased her to be able to do this for me". They genuinely care about the health of their patients. Not just the physical, but emotional as well, in accommodating my fears. They have actually changed my perspectives and for me to say that I am looking forward to coming back for next appointment, is nothing short of a miracle. Please don't hesitate in coming here. They are truly not like the rest."
