"Sharing my experience so that hopefully others can steer away- Austin Modern Dentistry is NOT LOCAL- it is a chain. I feel this is important information as they don't operate in a way a local place would- lots of sales tactics and pressure to get dental procedures done that you probably do not need!! I went in to see them about a gum recession and not only did they do a gum laser treatment that further damaged my gums, they tried to tell me I needed work on 4 teeth and quoted the procedure at a whopping $8000. The periodontist on site also told me if I didn't get the procedure done in the next month I would lose my teeth. When he was doing the exam, he literally felt my gums for like 2 seconds and was like YEP- you've got a BIG problem. I remember leaving and just crying because I didn't know what to do. I ended up seeing a privately practicing periodontist who told me I MAYBE needed work on one tooth, and later saw another dentist who told me I was fine and could just maintain cleaning to prevent further damage. The dentists and periodontists (don't remember his name) should be ASHAMED of themselves for working so hard to go through dental school to...scam people? Really? That is what you would like to contribute to this world? It's honestly disgusting and I WISH I would have more thoroughly read the reviews of this place before trusting them to care for my body. 0/10- stay AWAY from these scam artists."

"Would give 0 stars if possible. I spent about 5,000 for two crowns. Both had multiple issues and required multiple issues. If you want to spend a ton of money, have a ride office manager speak down to you, miss work repeatedly…this is the place for you. My last visit (2 visits after a crown) Dr. Ochoa adjusted my bite. She told me it was on my to call and let them know in two days how I felt and she wanted to see the mouth guard they made me. I called, they refused to see me unless I was willing to pay for another crown. One visit the dentist was sitting in her car, the workers were all complaining about a lack of supplies and no rooms open while judging her for being in her car…high employee turn over there. Poorly ran business with even worse dental work. I can provide about 100 more examples of how bad this place was to me, also have 5 coworkers who had similiar experiences. When I was waiting for a visit to correct previous visit, the chart was left open and 2 other people the same day were in for issues with their crowns…"

"Austin Modern Dentistry is amazing and the people are what make it so. Alexis was very friendly and got my x-rays taken care of quickly and easily. Tiffany took time to explain all the billing details so I had all the relevant information. Erika has such a great personality and helped me understand what was going on with my teeth. Dr. Ochoa is an excellent dentist. She is incredibly kind and conscientious of patient comfort as she works. I highly recommend Austin Modern Dentistry, they're a cut above the rest!!"

"First I will say Dr.Ochoa is great and as a dentist and a person, I would give her all the stars. We never had bad service here and everyone was always professional, but, after two years, we are leaving this practice and going back to our previous practice because the bills became too much. My family and I have always kept up on our dental care, cleanings, and so on--and have good dental hygiene, or so I thought. Between recommended deep cleanings, irrigation, and scaling, to crowns that could only be done in-house using a very nice, but expensive technology, I finally decided it was just too much (even with my relatively good insurance plan)."
