"This is a review of our PPF experience with Tint on Wheels (ToW) on 1102 Commercial Ave in San Antonio, a recently certified (2022) XPel authorized dealer. I usually don't write negative reviews but this was a huge disappointment. We compared 3+ different companies in the local area and decided to go with them since they seem to be most friendly, boasted their experience (technician has been doing it for 15 years), appeared to be extremely busy (took 3 calls during my FtF appointment) and offered the most competitive rates. Although in rare instances better price does not necessarily reflect poor quality, this is a prime example of "you get what you pay for." The shop is located south of San Antonio next to 35 freeway. After greeted by the lackluster building exterior and neighborhood, you see a fully-remodeled, clean, LED-lit showroom after walking in, with displays of different tints and wraps. We dealt with Josh over the phone, who seemed to be the only shopman; initially friendly, responsive and seemed genuine. We decided to go with the XPel Ultimate Plus on the entire car. They did kept us posted with timing and sent a few pictures after it was complete in 3 working days. Unfortunately I did not inspect the completed product carefully after taking delivery. Not only the pre-cut kit they ordered not wrap around the body panels of the vehicle but left slivers of unprotected surfaces at almost all panel edges of the entire vehicle. Even worse, much of the unprotected edges were unevenly spaced. There were cracked edges of the PPF film on the trunk and around the backup sensors, overlapped PPF films in the rear bumper inferior to the rear license plate, and some bulges (bubbles) in the driver’s door handle and side mirrors. When we reached out, instead of owning up to their mistakes, they were defensive and kept saying “we ordered the right pre-cut kit,” “that is how it’s done,” and “I still think it is pretty good.” No it's not "good," it's a rushed job that has gone wrong. We went straight to XPEL corporate and confirmed that the issues are likely due to installation and they should have called XPEL immediately when there were gaps after the the kit was initially installed. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they ignored it, hoping the customer does not find out. They even misplaced one of the license plate screws and replaced it with a different, much longer screw without informing us. I was livid when I continue to discover poor craftsmanship and poor business ethics. Though they offered to re-wrap the driver door handle and side mirror, we have lost faith in them after they ignored our multiple calls for over a month and not return our calls to schedule a re-install. They didn't even offer a ride (since we spent $100 in Uber roundtrip to drop-off/pickup my car). We simply wanted them to own up to their mistakes and admit they were not very experienced with XPEL PPF, especially on a Porsche. This is not a Ford Focus. Actions speak louder than words; they definitely over-promised, underdelivered, and showed poor business ethics. We gave them a chance to correct it or give us a full refund, but they just ghosted us and never reached out. They specialize in tint, not PPF. I would definitely NOT recommend XPEL PPF for your luxury car with ToW. Don't fall for their "Bait and switch" with low prices. We hope Josh, Victor and ToW can change the way they do business and own up to their work."
