Valvoline Instant Oil Change

"Sometimes great. Sometimes incredibly slow. They could better manage expectations if they identified the services requested by those in line. They could then let other people know to avoid the line with people that will take an hour to complete. They could also hire people who don't take so long for simple tasks. I have rotated tire by hand with 1 jack and 2 jack stands faster than the person if front of us yesterday."

"Waited in line for an hour to get a car inspection didn't even get it because I waited so long my phone died and I couldn't show them proof of insurance. I had a phone charger I just needed an outlet but they wouldn't help"

"It’s, 7:30am Sat March 2nd. I got here at 6:51am. There is only 1 Mechanic on duty!!?? There are 3 cars in each bay, and no less 13 waiting. Clearly, whoever SUPERMAN is working today is working very hard and rapidly. I’m one of the next cars that will get into the bay. So I will deal with it, but these cars deep behind me should be LIVID. There is no way to exit this parking lot and we all made a terrible choice today coming here. SUPERMANS name is Quinton! Excellent attitude and he should be given high grades and a BONUS in his check this week. If you do not, he certainly should seek employment elsewhere!! (Oh!!! Another guy just showed up…. It’s 7:40 am and he is doing his exercises!!) He certainly didn’t use alot of energy getting out of bed in time!! Or whatever his excuse is."

"Came in when they had a huge banner that read they'll match any coupon from a competitor for an oil change. I took them on their ad and showed the manager my Midas oil change coupon that was $25. He told me "there's fine print, we can't use it". I looked at him crazy and said "Every coupon has fine print...or else it wouldn't be a coupon". He then Told me "well I can't take it anyway because you got a traditional oil change". The oil change hadn't even happened yet so I said "Then I'll take the oil change detailed in the coupon". He said then said, "Well I can't take the price down that far but I'll take $15 off". I was tired of talking to him so I took that. Later on I was emailed a survey on my service where I told them my issue. I was contacted by phone by customer service where they told me it was up to the manager's discretion to accept the coupon. SO WHY WAS THERE A HUGE BANNER ADVERTISED STATING THAT YOU WILL MATCH ANY PRESENTED COUPON??? She then told me she will pass my complaint to the advertising team so this won't happen again. Needless to say, I won't be back. False Advertisement."

"I went in for basic oil change. Soon after I left my check engine light and skid mark readings came on. I returned the next day and the mechanic connected my vehicle to the diagnostic machine and told me it was the air filter. Well, then the mechanic changed my air filter and he said that when the air filter was removed from the car the other day it was reinserted wrong. He then continued by saying that “dust” had entered the “sensor” compartment and that what was causing the engine light to come on. He the recalculated my car to remove the check engine light, but failed to fix the real problem. I was concerned about my car because I was about embark on a long drive road trip. I asked him about the safety of the car. He said the car would be “fine”. He stated that I need to drive the car for the “dust” to be removed from the sensor. Little did I know that was the beginning of more problems to come. I drove my car 250 miles to my destination and my “check engine” light came on and the car began to stutter any time a came to a stop and felt like it wanted to turn off when shaking. My car was not shaking or jerking before the oil change. So I took my car to a local Valvoline shop and they told me they were not affiliated with the Valvoline “chain” and would not check the vehicle, but they recommended me to a local shop. I drove my car over there and four hours later we discovered what the real problem was. When the air filter was replaced during my oil change, the air filter sensor wire was torn and the air filter air intake tube was torn. The mechanic also told me that was the reason for the shaking at stops and the jerking of the car. This was also the reason for the check engine light to come on. Well needless to say, I had to have the parts replaced. And what ended being a simple oil change that cost me $85 ended up being an additional $368 of repairs. This is not acceptable. Valvoline should train their workers to watch what they do when returning any parts to a vehicles original compartment. I am very upset with my service and the added additional costs I had to pay because of their mistakes. Valvoline should reimburse me all of the costs that I have incurred."
