Steak 'n Shake

"The smash burgers are so fresh and delicious! The cheese fries keep me coming back. This Kit Kat Shake my 11 year old got today for his birthday, with extra cherries, was definitely birthday worthy. The self-order kiosk is easy to use, but I would prefer a worker take my order. The workers were friendly but it took a while after our food was provided for us to get our shakes. We were halfway through our meal before we had drinks. There was very little interaction with any “service”."

"Food tasted like it was microwaved and fries were undercooked, all self serve kiosk and then ask for a tip even though nobody did anything for you to top it off they have a stupid QR code reader you have to scan for your drinks. I used to really love steak and shake but it’s gone absolutely downhill over the past 6 years. Luckily in 2020 a similar restaurant opened down the street that serves the exact same food but better"

"I had no problem with the food. It was the atmosphere and service I had issues. One, ordering from the kiosk. Whatever happened to good customer service in the food industry? Not to mention the "asking for a tip" at the end of ordering. You want a tip, take my order, bring me my food and drink, refill my drink, and have a conversation with me or two, then we will talk about a tip. Two, scan the QR code to get a drink in 30 sec and you get one refill when you scan again. Is this what our world has came to? Why can't it be simple like before? Not dining in ever again!!!!!!"

"Steal 'n Shake always had delicious food. My family used to genuinely enjoy eating here. Unfortunately they went to self serve a few years ago. You place your order on a kiosk. When paying for your food you are asked to leave a tip even though no one serves you anything. Your name is called when your food is ready and you go get it. I get more service at McDonalds. Now they have recently added a barcode system where you have to scan a receipt code to fill your drink. You are only allowed one refill per code. I personally didn't need a second refill but it's tacky and absurd. Prior to self serve you received a free complimentary glass of water with every shake. This is no longer allowed. This is the only restaurant I have ever been to in any area that polices refills. Added to it they had an employee standing by the fountain machine policing and barking out which lid to use, etc. What's next a bar code for condiments? My family will not be back to eat in at Steak N Shake."

"The food was amazing! We didn’t have to wait long before we got to eat and everything was hot and fresh!! Everything was correct and we enjoyed every bite. We will definitely be coming back in the near future. Thank you for such an amazing experience!!"
