"Duetts is off the 290 drag into Manor. I definitely recommend people coming here. The staff is friendly and professional and make you feel comfortable. I went for an inspection. I later bought some tires. Have to support the mom and pop shops that care about their customers."
"The guy that does the inspection is very rude and without knowledge of state inspection laws. I don't really recommend this place. I just read one of the answers from the place itself when a customer complained about they charge $5 for put air. Well, that was not a kind answer "Sir" you pay your worker from their job they do but you should provide complimentary services that don't really cost you, but will bring you future clients. I'm just saying."
"Jerry is their best employee there. He is wise with is knowledge of repairs. Professional yet down to earth and cost affordable. You can tell the owner of the establishment has great trust in him."
"If I could post 0 stars…I would in a heart beat. I have never publicly posted a 1-star scathing review of a business, however my experience yesterday was so awful, I felt at first that surely this business was just pulling my leg or had a hidden camera. I wish that had been the case, but unfortunately not. About 2 weeks or so ago, my 18 year old son needed a new tire and went to this place. An employee (who conveniently does not work there any more according to who I assume was the owner), told my son that a new tire was $105, but if he paid in Cash to avoid additional fee’s, that it would be $85. My son insisted that he wanted to pay with a card as he didn’t have Cash, but after much insistence from the employee he relented and paid Cash. The employee did not provide a receipt as any business establishment should (as that is their responsibility). 3 days later while my son was driving to work the tire blew out as my son was pulling into his job in Manor (no nails or anything in the tire upon further inspection). It was just a crappy used tire and caused my son’s rim on his car to be bent as well. When I went to help my son get his tired fixed, we took this used tire back to Duett’s to show them the issue on the tire. The owner (or whoever he was) proceeded to tell me that they didn’t sell that tire to my son, all the while admitting that he wasn’t there when my son was physically at this establishment along with one of his friends at the time of purchase (obviously). He made up some excuse about how they write inside the tire in white chalk that the time and date of the tire being sold and when I asked him if they could have made a mistake, he said yes, but they didn’t in this situation as my son didn’t buy it from there. We asked where the employee was who sold the tire and he told us “he just had to fire him” (very convenient in this scenario). When I asked why they do not have records or receipts of purchases, he proceeded to blame my son for not asking for one saying (and I quote) “why would it be my responsibility to provide a customer with a receipt, if your son was foolish enough to pay cash at a place and not ask for a receipt…that’s his problem. This old employee who worked here ripped you off and pocketed the money…which isn’t my fault…that’s yours.” Can you imagine the audacity of business gaslighting a customer by telling them that: 1) “The tire you bought here (of which I wasn’t present for)…you didn’t buy that here actually…” 2) “My employee, who ripped you (the customer) off…that’s not my fault…that’s your fault…” NOTE: We described the physical description of the employee to the owner and he confirmed his employment) 3) “You didn’t ask for a receipt and I have no responsibility to provide you with one. That’s your fault.” 4) “I have no records (paper or computer) to look at to show this transaction. Why would I keep something like that?” 5) “Your tire did not just bust while you were driving like you said, you hit something that’s how it got damaged…” The insanity of everything was so ludicrous, I am still at odd’s trying to reconcile not just how this place is in business, but more over why this owner we treat a customer (and more over a person) like this. The smugness on his face and the satisfaction you see he gathered by trying to gas light & belittle my 18 year old African American sold, was deeply disappointing to watch. The way he relished in saying NO or even attempting to hear the customer’s issue with an open mind, showed just how truly poor this place. I have a business and serve people all over Austin all day, every day and know what it’s like to have customers have different options and experiences. The role is to never belittle or gaslight them, rather to listen and even if at odd’s, try to find a solution where you can make the person feel heard and find mutual ground (even if you can’t give them everything they are wanting). This person never had any intention of helping and it was a very eye opening experience as to how he runs his business. So Sad."
