"I’ve heard about this place from so many people and I’m glad I got to finally experience Handies! My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day so it was packed. The seating is a little cramped and the chairs aren’t exactly the most comfortable but overall, the restaurant’s vibe is laid back and casual. I started off with the Olyshii cocktail. I would honestly come back to Handies just for this drink- it’s sweet from the lychee, has that citrus aroma from the yuzu, and just enough sake where it’s not overpowering (I’m the type of person who likes alcoholic beverages that doesn’t taste like alcohol so just fyi haha) My boyfriend and I got the 5 Handroll set, Sake Crudo, and the Kanpachi Crudo. Everything in the Hand-roll set was delicious- my favorite was the BGB Sake! For one of the Negitoro, we got caviar for an extra $4 and tbh, I don’t think it’s worth it. I’ve never had it before and wanted to try it but it’s just a little extra buttery flavor, nothing crazy, I wished the set didn’t end on a Avodaco roll because it just leaves you wanting more. I’m pretty sure that’s their tactic and it worked because we ended up ordering A La Carte and got the Hamachi Hand-roll and the Hotate Hand-roll lol. Their Hamachi roll was delicious but the Hotate was okay, I wasn’t exactly a fan of their filling aside from the hotate itself. As for the Crudo, the sake was good but I thought the chii garlic was a little overpowering. However, their Kanpachi was delicious! I love how refreshing this dish was and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Overall, I enjoyed Handies very much! I can’t wait to drink their Olyshii cocktail again!"

"Really enjoy the food, but the service could be better. I asked to cut the hand roll in half so both my friend and I can try and they refused. Not sure if that was the rule but should have written on the menu if so. Also they really took time to serve each hand roll even though each order has multiple hand rolls (they weren’t serving any other guests food), so most of the time it was my friend and I looking at the roll and each other not sure who should eat it."

"This bar is a must-visit for sushi lovers! Went here with some new friends and had a great time - the atmosphere was lively and fun. Watching the chefs carefully create each roll was such an intimate experience, despite feeling a bit cramped at the bar. The rolls were so creative and full of fresh flavors. The drinks were paired perfectly with our meal. Will definitely have to come back when I'm in town again!"

"Excellent place to get sushi and hand rolls! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, making the atmosphere homey and relaxed. The sushi is fresh and great quality, so definitely get some to accompany the hand rolls which were super tasty and well portioned out. The prices are absolutely reasonable seeing how fresh and tasty everything was. Definitely a 10/10 would recommend!"

"Houston’s premier spot for hand rolls Food: the freshly prepared hand rolls are delicious! The crispy seaweed contrasts nicely with the fresh fish and various savory pairings. There is a great rice to filling ratio. Value: we had the 5 hand roll set for $29. While it’s on the upscale side, it was filling, high quality, and well worth the price. Service: Impeccable - we were made to feel right at home by James, who warmly checked in with us through our visit."
