Reviews of E-Star Chinese Buffet
"It’s been about 7 years since my last visit and one thing I remembered was that the service is number one followed by the food in how horrible it is. I went here with the church family and all the adults left with a sour feeling. For one the waitress, didn’t believe us when we shared that the kids were under 12, she went to try to card each child. All the food tastes bland, this space gets the experience of a Chinese buffet but not the taste. I will never come back here"
"Fresh food taste as far as quality food. Foods seem to have less artificial by-products(or by-product taste)than some buffet Chinese food restaurants. Many side items to choose from but could have more protein/meat items. Bathroom was clean, restaurant seemed exceptionally clean, and there was no "residual food smell" in restaurant. Our server was great. She continually check on us and ensured we were pleased. I enjoyed the wonton soup(must add condiments including salt), the planko shrimp and Chinese rice. Overall pleasant experience but I didn't care for the taste of some food choices, so it's not worth the cost for me. The robot waitresses were different."
"Absolutely bada$$, consider I just had my dinner at Dimassi's 2 days ago (the Mediterranean Buffet), there is no comparison, this is at least three or four levels above that restaurant chain, that one has maybe like HALF aisle of variety of food this one offers, and this one offers five aisles each one is above and beyond the Mediterranean buffet offers ... the amount of customers every night and the other amount of returning customers (myself included) is a testament how good the food here. I'm sure not sure what's up with the rating here, I have been to a lot of restaurants and buffets around Houston area, this one should be around 4.7 to 4.8 - ish. It is comparable to the other Chinese restaurant close to Rice Village called Hu's Cooking (which have a 4.7 ratings) the quality of food is meticulously and it is all more impressive consider the massive crowd during the dinner time The rating does not do them justice consider how many customers they have because return customers I'm sorry that is just the fact"
"Lots Of Options. Good Service Oh And The Electronic Waitress Blew Me Away. Never Seen One In Person"
"Clean. Busy. Good selection. Very good turnover pf empty dishes. Decent sushi including sashimi. Good variety flavors. Would recommend as a good buffet. It's an above average Chinese buffet compared to other Houston locations. Note that the flavors aren't as developed as a stand alone Chinese restaurant especially if they are specializing in a specific dish. I'll be back to this location. 1/18/2020: Consistent food flavors. Friendlier service. Bathroom was in better shape today at 4PM. Spring 2023: I downgraded them to a three star at a five star buffet only because the flavors of the food are really becoming average. The floor still has a tendency to feel a little bit sticky. Don’t feel like it’s getting as clean as it should bathroom sometimes G-Eazy Walmart individually bought so that’s more commercial. The service is OK. Not great. In terms of filling up your water and your sodas. Also, I’ve had a tendency to want to avoid going here just because I think there’s a lot of better buffet places around the Houston area so I’d say right now I’d pass on this buffet 5/1/2021 The flavors are great. Nice selection. The sashimi is fresh. They still provide disposable gloves. Bathroom was clean. The carpet definitely needs to be cleaned and the chairs have a sticky feel to them. I stand by the 4 star review."
