When I tried to tell her that I need to be seen by a doctor right away (hence why I was referred) she became Impertinent and rushed me off the phone! This behavior is abysmal, unprofessional and alarming! I am appalled at this behavior coming from a doctors office."

"I'm in my early 50's and have hip and lower back pain and went to dr.mark smeltz for relief. this is what I got, 2 month perscription of tramadol which helped completely and when I went for a refill I was referred out to South Bend Orthopaedics, a Dr. Clemency who is the biggest quack I've ever met. Dr.Smeltz will not refill my perscription even tho I have jumped through all the hoops of being referred out and was told by Dr.Clemency of SBO that my primary care doctor (i.e.Dr.Smeltz) would have to renew my tramadol perscription but that he would perscribe celebrex and only celebrex, even after I told him that celebrex upsets my stomach. So if you are looking for a doctor that cares about your pain, Dr.Smeltz is NOT THAT DOCTOR. You are just a number to him......I know about the laws about tramadol and pain pills and I was never trying to break any laws or feed an addition, just get out of pain."
