Reviews
"I worked with Yana Melnik and she was just amazingly empathetic, knowledgeable and most of all, went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Urban Balance was moving billing systems at one point and I realized I was not being charged correctly, but Yana stepped in and took care of it for me so I could just focus on my therapy. She also made me feel heard, took feedback in a very sporting way, and generated tremendous trust in me for her. I would highly recommend her - I was entirely new to therapy, esp for my condition, and I could not have asked for a better first therapist."
"1 star for my time there, the 2nd star is because it was initially very easy and efficient for me to contact the company and set up a first appointment. Saw Allison Herbert for a few months, Nov-Feb 2020, in this time she missed two of my appointments due to marking her calendar wrong. After the second time, it then took her 5 days to answer my email afterwards. Don't recommend getting ghosted by a therapist"
"Super frustrating when you call in to make an appointment. Michelle gives you a day and time and tells you the counselor will contact you to confirm the appointment. I call back in the day of since we never received a call. Michelle picks up and says if the counselor didn't call to not show up. Leah Raulerson never contacted us to confirm or move the appointment if she couldn't make it. What's the whole point of making an appointment a week before if they won't acknowledge it? Very poor way of doing things, especially when you're a first time client and desperately needing a therapist."
"I am a clinician who had a significantly unprofessional and inconsiderate experience with Urban Balance. They were unresponsive to my needs and when I proposed what I thought would help me meet my needs they were rigid and unwilling to problem solve with me. There is no behaviour l exhibited that warranted this disrespect.l would be careful about trusting them is the real concern"
"I am a clinician and refer to Urban Balance on a regular basis. They have a wide range of counselors who can assist clients with a variety of concerns from life transitions (career changes, births, deaths, relationships, developmental stages) to overall wellness to chronic mental health management. Their insurance-friendly model helps people obtain counseling without the fear that services will not be available. Urban Balance is known nationally for exceptional service, providing professional development opportunities for counselors, and for supporting he needs of their clients. I highly recommend Urban Balance."
