"2nd Update 1/6/23: Have not had a working HVAC system in over six months. Stuck with a space heater for the past two months with the apartment getting cold at night. We have had only one working elevator for nearing three months. The remaining elevator takes forever sometimes having to wait 2-3 minutes. The “secure” parking is definitely not and security cameras don’t work in the building. Public spaces are dirty and take forever for maintenance requests. Management does not care about any current residents and solely focuses on signing new leases in hopes to attract more residents who will have to endure these conditions. There are multiple code violations and I would encourage any residents into getting a lawyer or contacting the health department about your lack of heat. UPDATE: ac still doesn’t work in my apartment after months, portable unit is useless and does little to actually cool the apartment. Also after one elevator had been broken for weeks with zero updates on when it would be fixed, the other elevator stopped working. only one working elevator in the far back of the apartment complex and doesn’t go past the fifth floor. so i guess if you have a disability you’re just supposed to suffer up 5 flights of stairs. still a complete dump and wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy to have to live here. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! management keeps saying “we’re working on it” to my broken ac unit. it’s been days and the temp is currently nearing the mid 80s in my apartment. earlier this week there was no running water and it took them nearly a week to fix it. constantly ignores problems laid out to them by tenants. currently having to run box fans plus the ceiling fan to prevent myself from passing out to due heat exhaustion. went down to talk but they said my problem would have to wait until monday. so i’m stuck in the apartment with no working ac during the weekend mid 90 temperatures. NEVER STAY HERE."
"DO NOT LIVE HERE. Update #2 12/13/23: My heat has been broken for over a week, temperatures have reached below 60 INSIDE my apartment, and they put a small space heater in my unit and completed the work order on the HVAC system. Cherry on top was the unauthorized entry into my unit with no notice at all. Even though they have a box specified to identify if you grant them permission to enter, which I did not. Valuable belongings unsecure and sensitive information readily available. Update about a month after original post: elevator is broken again today. We’re now going on 3 months with unreliable elevators and having to climb 10+ flights of stairs. Do not believe any of the positive reviews the management for the property pays the tenants hundreds of dollars to leave positive reviews. Original (Oct 2023): If you’re reading this review consider this a blessing in disguise and DO NOT live here. Just a short list of issues with this property in my short 3 months living here: 1. There has been a man harassing me in the parking garage for weeks including inappropriate comments and nearly rear ending my car 3 times and leasing office will not help even after multiple complaints. 2. All the security cameras on the property do not work and they will not tell you. 3. I live on the 10th floor and the elevators do not work at least 2-3 days out of the week as of recently. 4. I actually got stuck in the elevator, falling 4 stories, and had to be rescued by the fire department and that elevator has been out of order for 2+ months. Leasing office acted like it was a normal occurrence that I almost died. 5. There are many units in the building that are extremely hot. We had family stay in an AirBnb unit and temperatures were close to 90 degrees with no air conditioning and people are stuck in their leases in these conditions which is a fault in the building. 6. Health department always has the pool shut down, I’ve never been able to use it since living here. 7. Management will allow residents to smoke in the building and elevators and walk around with AK-47s with no repercussions. 8. There are so many unregulated Airbnb units that there’s always random people destroying the property. Patio, pool and just generally disturbing the peace. 9. The patio areas have been “under construction“ and are basically in usable. No progress being made. 10. The leasing office is completely useless and the turnover in management is so high you will never speak to the same property manger twice and every issue will go unresolved. 11. There have been multiple emergency situations including active shootings where the SWAT team had to come, fires and people freely walking around with excessive weapons. 12. They charge you extra for “valet garbage disposal” but half the time the service will not pick up the trash because the management doesn’t pay them, but they’ll still charge you monthly. Same for the service that cleans the building making it a complete dump because management doesn’t pay the vendors. Not sure what our rent is going towards. 13. Can’t ever get in contact with the leasing office. I work until 5 and they’re gone for the day by the time I get home but I’ll call the office and no one answers the phones even during business hours. 14. The reason the leasing office only accepts electronic payments is because multiple residents have had their checks duplicated and deposited multiple times. It’s to prevent check fraud in their management. 15. You won’t be able to use any of the amenities that they advertise including the patio/grilling space, gym, dog park, study rooms ect. The gym hasn’t ever been cleaned or sanitized and the treadmills only go faster not slower so you have to restart your workout if you want to change your pace or incline. DO NOT LIVE HERE. It’s unsafe and overpriced. Look elsewhere it will be worth paying a bit more to not have to take 10 flights of stairs up and down everyday and almost dying in the elevator. I would leave 0 stars if I could."
"Absolutely love my new apartment! The finishes are amazing! And I am thrilled I have a patio with a view! Great location and its on the canal. Parking within building and has elevators. I am very impressed with how everything is always clean!"
"I was debating on whether or not I should post my review of 9 on Canal because the staff had always been great to me. My only issue was with the A/C unit. I moved into the apartment in Nov 2022. I found out the heat to my apartment did not work 2 days after. The maintenance brought me 2 portable heater to use because he said they were waiting on a part for the unit. He stated he was unsure of when it would be fixed. I touched it out through the winter and spring with the portable heaters. Then summer began. The temperature in my apartment was 91 degrees. I called maintenance after realizing the Air in my apartment also didn't work. He came by and told me they were waiting on a part to fix the air part of the unit. He explained the same part that controlled the heat also controlled the air. Needless to say I left the apartment. I had already suffered through the winter. I refused to suffer through the summer. I was paying my full rent on time and I expected to at least be comfortable in my apartment. I see nothing has changed and they are still tell unsuspecting Tenants lies. I am posting this review to warn others . I didn't read the reviews but I wish I had. Please before you rent here, make sure the A/C unit works. Make sure it doesn't just turn on and off but actually works. The staff is great but don't be fooled by nice people because once you sign the contract, they can't help you. The owner of this establishment should be held accountable for false advertising. They should be made to warn potential residents of important issues prior to allowing you to sign a lease. Please let this serve as a warning to others."
"Honestly I never review because I am a nice person and I hate to hurt peoples feelings. But this has been such a horrible experience from top to bottom that I wanted to help others not to chose this place. The building was built to be nice but it is so poorly maintained. Back in October a locked storage closet next to our apartment flooded the hallway as well as our apartment and then leaked down to lower floors so much so that the first floor ceiling caved in. The next day people came into our apartment and tore out our flooring. It is now August and despite many MANY reminders and reassurances that it would be fixed, we still have no floor. The plumbing in the apartment is still a mess as they worked on it last week and nicked something so our washer leaks every time we run it. This has not been fixed even though we have asked for help several times. The air conditioning has many glitches and the gym as well as many common areas (and some apartments) do not have AC. And maybe the most frustrating- the front wheel of my husbands bike was stolen FROM THE LOCKED CAGE in our parking garage where it was locked with a u-lock. When asked about looking at security footage as it is disconcerting that it was stolen by someone with access to our apartment complex, management said they do not have access to security cameras. Seems like a big oversight especially considering someone was killed in the gym here a few years ago. I don't want to hurt any feelings but I am just so frustrated and would highly advise against this place."
