"I hear the apartments have been without heat since January 8th on all 14 units and Lisa refuses to do anything about it and has threaten the tenants about it. I will not be looking at these apartments nor recommending that one else do either."
"Renters be ware of these reviews! I lived here and the experience was terrible. My roommate and I had a broken air condition for 3 and a half months! In the summer when it was hot and humid, our thermostat provided by the apartment read 77 degrees even while set at 69 however there was no way it was 70 degrees in that sauna. Because of the resistance the leasing office gave me when I raised this concern, I had to go out and buy a personal thermostat to get an accurate reading. My apartment was 94 degrees at one point. When I again reached out to maintenance I received verbal harassment from Lisa who repeatedly stated there was nothing wrong with our ac unit and cancelled maintenance requests. We had $250 electricity bills the entire length of summer and was told that was normal compared to our $50 bills in spring. I was afraid to reach out to maintenance about the mold growing in our windows and in the shower because of Lisa. It wasn’t until the mold got to a point that people were concerned for my health that I brought it up and the apartment complex promptly blamed me and my roommate for the mold and refused to treat it or do anything to fix the issue until the health department had to submit multiple requests to take care of the problem. When my lease was finally coming to an end, I tried to turn my keys in on three separate occasions but the office was closed without any prior notification that they would be closed. I had even emailed the office to confirm that they would be open on January 2nd to drop my keys and they said that would be fine, however when I arrived the office had closed early, again without notification, despite having email verification that I would be coming that day. There is a Dropbox by the office that clearly states “checks only” so I did not put my keys in there as my lease states I must hand the keys over in person. Well because the office was closed and I didn’t want to be charged for improperly dropping them off in the mailbox, the apartment complex charged me for an improper move out anyway. When I called to dispute the charge I got Lisa on the phone again. After hearing the lengths I went through to turn the keys in properly and shocked at getting charged, Lisa shortly replied “and..?”. Lisa was consistently poor tempered, rude and unprofessional with residents. It’s clear Brockton doesn’t care about the residents because all the negative reviews are about Lisa and they continue to allow her to harass the residents she is supposed to serve. The company only responds with “how sorry they are about the negative experience” and that they’ll “look into” the comments made about Lisa. Lisa is still employed so clearly she has no repercussions for her inexcusable behavior. So since Brockton refuses to change, I’m warning every renter to stay away! Find any other property, hopefully one with a staff that wants to help their residents! If someone from the Barrett and Stokely management company want to reach out, I am happy to provide thorough documentation of these encounters."
"Although we waited almost a week, the maintenance man who came arrived at the time he was scheduled. He took care to replace the 3 other ancient brackets to secure the blinds. He was efficient, careful, polite, and kind. He also helped me retrieve an item that fell behind the oven. I appreciate his kindness and professionalism."
"I love the community, my neighbors are very kind. Pretty quiet community. The staff has been mostly kind; this summer my single bedroom apt was close to 80 degrees, I put in a window unit so I could keep cool for two months. I was told I had a limited amount of days to remove the window unit- but NONE of my neighbors that have window units removed theirs. By the way there’s 6 window units that I see when I look outside my window. So I was singled out? I’m dreading winter, as last year my apartment was a stiff 50 degrees, and when I called the office about the boiler system not working, I received attitude from the maintenance man while he screamed over the office staff I was speaking with. I don’t feel comfortable making requests with the office."
"Still some plastering to be done in bathroom. It would be helpful to receive confirmation that the work request had been received and get an estimated time for completion. I waited about 2 weeks after the request was submitted via email to contact the office to find out when the work would be done. Tech was polite and quality of work appears to be good."
