"Lived here for almost 3 years and watched this once quaint apartment complex devolve into a cesspool of everything you would want to run away from (drugs, weed, crime). The parking lot is a hotbed of drug dealing activity after dark, as evident by a large number of abandoned/beat up cars with flat tires/broken headlights/cracked windshields. The management clearly turns a blind eye to that but they seem to overly enthusiastic about warning paying tenants that their car registration is expired by 1 day and they have 48 hours to remedy it or risk being towed. Smoking is officially allowed (yes allowed !!!) inside the apartment units by management and while they do ever so gently request people to not smoke marijuana inside their units, all you can ever smell inside the buildings is the stench of weed. HVAC system is extremely loud and old so be ready to have your sleep disrupted if you are a light sleeper. If you want to be in the company of wife-beater wearing meth heads with face tattoos and their aggressive pitbulls, this is the place for you."
"On January 18th (11 days ago), I was notified while at work that a pipe burst in my unit causing it to flood. Collectively, my boyfriend and I have called the office 13 times since then attempting to get answers/updates regarding what maintenance has done so far vs what still needs to be done, when I can move back in, and whether they can provide me with temporary living accommodations until I can move back in. I have left voicemails, called the numbers they’ve told me to call, and followed up when they told me to follow up. All I have heard from anyone so far is essentially “I don’t know, I’ll have someone get back to you.” I visited my apartment 2 days ago (which is, inconveniently, a 40 min drive from where I’m currently staying) and found everything to still be completely disassembled & disorganized (e.g. mattress is still in the living room, bedding in the bathtub etc), carpet still SOAKING wet, and the entire apartment with a new, horrendous musty smell coming from the now-moldy carpet. Maintenance has always been great in terms of resolving issues quickly and I know this is not entirely their fault; but in terms of management/leasing office staff, there is absolutely no sense of urgency, no desire to provide the assistance I need from them to resolve this issue, and hardly any awareness of what’s going on, let alone any communication with me whatsoever regarding the status of this issue or what they are doing to help. Overall, this apartment provides a lot of great amenities/perks such as the proximity of the Monon trail, dog park/tennis court, and *usually* quick response to maintenance requests, but this current issue is not the only one I’ve had to deal with and there is definitely a pattern I’ve noticed when it comes to getting management’s attention. I also dealt with an issue last year where I was unable to access my mailbox for NINE MONTHS after moving in, and other residents told me they had dealt with the same issue, with some even saying they never got their mailbox key at all before moving out. Back to the current issue though, I have called 3 times so far this morning and been told each time that the property manager is available/at the office and will give me a call back. It has now been 2.5 hours and I still haven’t heard from them. Will update this review as this issue progresses."
"This is mainly a message to let people know that this is a smoking complex. I had no idea it was legal to smoke indoors in an apartment, so I didn't think to ask. Just wanted people to know in case it's an issue for you. Also, although I've asked many times for an alternative, as far as I know, there is always an extra $35 fee to process rent payments. (Update: it took a few months, but I finally got an answer of how to pay without the fee) Besides these two items, I have no complaints! It's a good price considering it is on the Monon and very close to almost anything you might need."
"It has become a car lot it’s has several automobiles and trailers on the premises that makes it hard to ark it’s been mention to management and nothings has been done management said it’s not allowed in the parking spots that the automobiles and trailers have to be at the carports as instructed in our contractual lease they seem to be concerned about the rent not concerned about following the rules I think that’s why patrons are turned off by this compound it’s comical"
"Amy Daniel has been in the office for almost a year, she is wonderful! She really tries to help residents succeed and live to their full potential. She is an amazing assistant property manager, and she deserves so much appreciation! She has made living at the Lodge a very welcoming and warm place."
