"I lived here since 2011. I moved in 2014 to merrillville and came back in 2015 because I loved it so much. They gave me my deposit back and all. By far the best place to live at the time. I loved it. The neighbors were friendly and minded their own business. The apartment complex did yearly inspections to make sure you live clean and if anything needed to be fixed. The place outside was so clean. In 2020, everything changed. New management, bringing in people from Chicago. My sisters car got stolen. On August 2020, I just had my newborn and a maintenance man knocked on my door and was like “how many have you seen?” I’m like “seen what”. He’s like I came here to spray. I’m like okay?? The next morning, I woke up to a roach on my forehead and cussed the building out because I was also sleeping next to my baby. I went the next day and bought so much roach stuff but it wasn’t working because the building was infested bad! I tried my best. My heater along the apartment broke and I contacted the office multiple times to fix it. It was causing my walls to sweat and I had mold all over my clothes in drawers. I finally had enough to save up and move out in 2023. Never even resigned a lease, they don’t keep up with that, especially if you ignore them. So basically I was month to month. I left. When I left, I had to throw everything away. All my beds, dressers, tv stand, tvs, etc. the only think I took was my kids clothes and mine straight to the laundromat and washed everything. When I threw my couch out, it was like 14 pregnant roaches hiding in my couches, Scattering. I exchanged my wifi box in a plastic bag and when I moved it like 40 baby ones scattered. I was so scared to take a roach with me to my new place I threw everything away. They have the nerve to try and say I OWE them money and I’ve been there for YEARS. I need collateral damage and inhabitable environment. I had to start over on EVERYTHING. IT FEELS SO GOOD NOW TO SLEEP WITH THE LIGHTS OFF AND NOT WORRY ABOUT A ROACH CRAWLING ON YOU. OR IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PLATE ON THE COUNTER TO USE THE RESTROOM REAL QUICK A ROACH WOULD BE ON YOUR FOOD. my kids were so used to the that they would just start smacking them with shoes. Went from OMG a ROACH, to ummm mom there’s a roach behind you watch out, ima kill it. Be aware. Washer stay broken, I usually was the one who reached out to the actual company instead of the office so they can come and fix it. These are pictures of my roach traps monthly. The other pic it me cleaning out my cabinets and all the dead roaches from the traps I changed every 3 months. That I was not reimbursed for. ! Good luck."
"I lived at this apartment complex for a year! When I first signed my lease the leasing agent Ms Pat, kept asking me if I had kids to which I repeated no! I signed my lease for a two bedroom apartment, got my copy of the lease and moved in. I loved my place! Toward the end of my lease I got a letter stating in order to renew I had to bring in a copy of my child’s birth certificate! I ignored the first letter because I thought they were mistaken. They sent a second and then a third letter so I called the office and asked them what they meant by bring my child’s birth certificate. They informed me that on my lease it states I have a child! I told them I don’t have kids and never had kids. I went to the office to look at my lease and somebody had written on my lease that I said I was pregnant at the time I signed and that my child was born on July 26th and it was a baby boy! As I’m explaining to them this was not on my original lease they told me I had to speak with the office manager, who was literally avoiding me! Next thing I know I receive and 30 day notice to vacate due to falsifying documents. I was so pissed! I went right to the office and demanded to speak with the manager with my original lease. He didn’t even want to look at my lease! I tried to let him know somebody wrote that on my lease after I signed! He told me there was nothing he could do and I needed to vacate in 30 days! Turns out it is some kind of low income apartment complex and I wasn’t notified. I make too much so I do not qualify for low income! Whoever Ms Pat is definitely falsified my lease so she could get me that two bedroom. Luckily I had found a place before the 30 days were up! I was so pissed I had to move I wanted to destroy the entire apartment but I just quietly moved out after cussing the manager out! Worse experience would never recommend that place!"
"Absolutely the worst place to live. You will see it when you move in. My original review was removed by them. Because I had pictures & a well written paragraph about how horrible my stay was. Between the front desk representative, the maintenance stealing from us, etc. please be careful, the neighbors is least of the problem!"
"This was my first time renting an apartment and it was a terrible experience. The best thing about it was the rent amount considering I was on low income. They stuck me in the back apartments and they smelled so old. Something was breaking every week . The paperwork process was rushed , and unclear: one moment i was there for a 1 bedroom next thing they callin saying I was eligible for a 2 bdrm. Then was rushed through that process and had to come up with deposit fees ASAP. They are unorganized . It's located at least 10 mins(driving from everything). I can only imagine the walk time to a store . Then upon exiting they smacked me with a a bunch of fees so i owe them 3000 when my rent was only $64 a month. Don't forget the neighbor leaving her child's dirty diapers outside her door or her garbage. If you don't mind a lil project living then this is the perfect spot for you!"
