"Extremely irresponsible behavior with A/C systems broken for a day with absolutely NO communication or status updates from the apartment staff. A building-wide issue should have clear communication and timely updates sent to the building residents, especially during the hottest days of summer. This is dangerous, irresponsible, and can easily lead to heat strokes."

"Nice building and facilities. The receptionists are super nice. The maintenance team in the building is great. Be careful if you decide to rent a lower-level apartment. Basically got told that there is nothing the pest control team could do to fix flies problem. They have nests all over windows (on the outside). Nothing has changed after 1 month."

"Pros: New building so few maintenance problems Nice views Good, fast maintenance team Parking is straightforward, the garage is easy to drive around. Some garages have a bunch of support posts in the middle that you have to be careful to avoid; this one does not. Decent amenities floor with free coffee, gym, a couple of meeting rooms. Pool is pretty useless though, no hot tub. Access to the best parts of Hyde Park (still a far cry from the Loop/Lincoln Park/Wicker Park/Northalsted, but if you're committed to Hyde Park this is a good location). Cons: SO expensive. Hundreds more per month than comparable buildings in the loop. Seriously, live up there and drive, Metra, or bus down. Cheap finishes. The walls mark up if you breathe on them wrong. No ice makers in the freezer. Electric stoves. The comparable buildings in the loop have higher quality finishes for lower prices. I was frequently waiting longer than seemed necessary for an elevator. I think part of the problem is that the maintenance team would sometimes reserve one of the three elevators in the mornings, when everyone is trying to get downstairs, making it effectively two elevators for 26 floors. And/or the elevator control software was not optimized. Buildings this size in the Loop have four elevators minimum. Mac apartments. While the in-building team is good, the company is brutal... you can't make payments over the phone, the online system will bill you extra without warning if you use a credit card, the parking rate went up unexpectedly, I had to call to get my parking amended because I was charged for a full month at the end even though I moved out mid-month. Summary: Mac took a building with a lot of potential and went cheap on the finishes and the company-wide customer service while going expensive with the rent. Unfortunate. Recommend to rent somewhere cheaper for better value."

"I have lived at 5252 since August 2019 and I moved out recently due to my job relocation. I was the second resident to move into the apartment and I can tell you that my time at 5252 has been absolutely fantastic!!! It has great amenities including a nice gym, pool, and sky lounge, but most importantly, the staff at 5252 are AMAZING. Dan is a great manager and he always makes sure the property is safe and clean. Kelvin and Ricardo address all maintenance issues at your unit in a prompt and professional manner and Jackie always welcomes you with a big smile at the front desk :) I will truly miss this apartment and the nice/friendly staff of 5252. 5252 gave me the best experience possible in Chicago and I have no doubt current residents & future residents will have a similar experience there as well."

"A spectacular building. The apartments are sleek and sunny with great views. The amenity spaces are inviting and the view from the roof deck or the pool can't be beat. Service is great as well. I am so happy to have rented here. I worked with Ken Hall. He anticipated my every need, was extremely responsive and couldn't have been more knowledgeable."
