Reviews
"This is a review specifically for the Wound Care Clinic. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful and kind the wound care team at Weiss is. My mother went in with a cat scratch that unfortunately led to sepsis and the whole process has taken more than 2 years of wound care to get her wound to finally close. The nurses and Doctor in the wound care center has gone above and beyond in their care and patience and I cannot speak highly enough of the top notch care my mother has always recieved."
"Extremely frustrating experience. Long wait times for a SCHEDULED appointment despite no other patients around, only got seen once we reminded the staff we were waiting in an exam room. Simple labs ordered incorrectly, more administrative incompetence on the outpatient lab floor. Steer clear if possible."
"The worst hospital I’ve ever been to. The nurses are lazy, the doctors are clueless, & it’s not a good experience being there at all. Don’t go to the ER because they won’t take good care of you. I was never a patient here at Weiss but had relatives there & it was very stressful because they don’t care fire patients like they should. A lot have to change here like attitudes & providing better care for the people that is less fortunate than others. Quality over quantity."
"My 88 year old mother took a fall and was taken to Weiss Hospital. My expectations were low because of the location of the hospital. It was the best experience I have ever had with a hospital. The communication with every team of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, caseworkers, etc was so quick and efficient. Every test, scan, etc was done immediately (no waiting) and the results were reported back quickly via a direct phone call to me. The staff is friendly, kind, and supportive. The hospital is clean and orderly. Being a University of Chicago teaching hospital means there is a lot of support staff. The hospital is not over crowded at all. My mother’s stay at Weiss Hospital was a 10 out of 10. I commend the hospital for their standard of excellence."
"My dad was admitted to the ER and then to the third floor. He is unable to talk or move. The staff seemed to be avoiding patients. I was in the room with my dad for four hours and the nurses rarely checked on him. I pressed the nurse button several times, but it took about 25 minutes for someone to come in. I finally walked out of the room and looked around. A few nurses saw me and I pressed the button again. Then they came in. When I asked the nurses questions, they seemed like they didn't want to be there. My questions about my dad were disregarded and unanswered. A male nurse said he would get back to me, but it's been four hours and I still haven't heard from him. The staff is super rude when I ask simple questions, like how many visitors are allowed in the room. One guy just said, "I don't know, ask the nurses." This is a terrible experience. The staff seems like they don't want to work."
