Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Wayne-North

"We called the hotel prior to arrival to ask a couple questions. The phone rang and rang then finally someone answered. Luckily, the guy was helpful. When we arrived to check in I came to the front desk and no one was around. I remembered I could check in with the app so all was good. The overall condition of the hotel isn’t too bad but there are several places that appear to slowly be in the process of being fixed. The carpet in high traveled areas was rather rough. Our kids (5 & 3) were excited for the indoor pool but we quickly learned the indoor pool is not heated. VERY COLD! The hotel definitely needs some updates and attention as well as some more staff. Overall, not bad but I had higher expectations. If staying in the area again I would probably try a different hotel."

"When I called to ask if their pool was working before I booked, they failed to tell me there was a party booked for it, and since I arrived at 3pm, they arrived right after and it's been nothing but obnoxious screaming and yelling and slamming doors and it's 9:30pm now and they're still at it. No one seems to come tell them to be quieter or stop slamming doors. I went to use the microwave in the lobby, and 2 of them slammed open the pool room door almost into me and my 4 year old daughter, almost hitting us, then they proceeded to walk in front of us blocking the whole hallway, then stop to look at their phones and making us stand there not able to get around. Completely rude and disrespectful. My daughter gets scared of the noise. No one can get any sleep in any silence. Why would a hotel allow such behavior. It's only one night. I'm sure this experience won't happen again to me, but it will for others if these people are there. Hotel itself was good, the experience staying here is awful."

"The rooms are quite comfortable and large. The bedroom has a door and the sink is separate from the bath/toilet which is convenient. The sitting area has a small sink, microwave and a full size fridge. The sitting area with sofa couch is large and spacious. The main downsides are the following: 1) right next to the highway so ask for a room that doesn't face the freeway. My room faces the highway and it's quite noisy all night long 2) water tastes terrible and is undrinkable. Whether it comes from the sink or the water fountain. The filtered water in the lobby wasn't working nor was the water filter in the exercise room."

"Checked in online, went to get key at front desk no one to be found. Finally got key open the door, room dirty. We even showed up a little late. The Assistant Manager assigned a new room and called to check on us to make sure the room was good. You can tell they're trying to update the property, which it needs it badly. The kids enjoyed the pool."

"The manager at the desk is rude. We tried to check in at 3pm which is when you can. Instead of saying they were short staffed and they were behind cleaning rooms we were told that's not a guaranteed time. We waited an hour for our room and that was with my mother in law asking multiple times when it would be done. I got kicked out of breakfast for not having shoes on. There are no signs posted (I've never had this problem before and I only had boots with me) and I wasn't the only person down their without shoes. The room itself was good except the bathroom. Whoever they paid to do it didn't know what they were doing. There are several other hotels nearby so I would not recommend."
