"The front desk people are great! Chris and Christina are great! I had a small issue that I brought to them and they worked really hard to resolve this issue. The maintenance stuff is great in that they’re quick to fix issues as well. One of the maintenance staff, her name is Summer, got it resolved within the day it was presented! Great people!"
"I love living here, it’s so close to classes, the maintenace is always so quick to respond to any issues I have in my apartment and most of the office staff Chris, Christine, and McKenzie are always friendly and helpful, except Lynn up front. She is ALWAYS snappy and beyond rude to not only me but my roommates as well. Other than that my experience has been amazing!!"
"Chris has been so helpful through the whole process before renting over the phone, and if any trouble arises there is always a follow through solution. Chris has been a true blue. Chris is a go to if I have any questions. Christina is always at the desk when I walk in and is welcoming. Lynn knows me by name and room number, which makes me feel special, and she has taken the initiative to get my mail ready when I go into the leasing office. Makenzie has given me alerts if I miss a payment which I've been greatful for. Scott has helped me get back into my room when I left my key inside. Great staff! I feel very lucky to live here."
"I wrote a review about 6 months ago, and the only downside I could think of was the fact the elevators are always down. Well, since then that hasn't gotten better, but everything else has gone down hill. So let's begin, shall we? Pets: Unless you're ready to pay $500+ on arrival and an extra $35 a month per pet, don't even think of bringing an animal into your apartment. Even if it's your best friend who you're sheltering for a week while you find them a good home, that's a $1000 fine, no leniency. Excessive fines: If your apartment is dirty at ANY time (they will come in and check while you're not home, no notice) you will receive fines. Dishes in the sink counts as dirty, btw. I received an email recently stating that, despite the price hike due to electricity, we aren't allowed to turn off our air conditioner, and will be fined if we do. There's more, but I don't have room to list them here. Staff: The good, helpful staff members I mentioned in my last review have all been run off. They've been replaced by rude, unhelpful, inconsiderate people, who speak to you as if your very existence is a violation of the lease. I suspect that the owner (who has already been showing these tendencies) hand picked these people specifically to run her business the way she sees fit. Which is fine for her, as long as she's cool with bad reviews and scared/angry tenants Parking: Along with the tow truck sharks that like to steal your car if "they don't see" your parking passes, a new menace has cropped up recently. I was about to head to work one morning, when I noticed my work van had a completely deflated rear tire, and a ticket on the window from "Nighthawk Patrol Services", stating that I had 24 hours to fix my deflated tire before my car was towed. The same thing happened to my personal vehicle that I kept in annex parking (before the rule about 1 car per person was made). Neither of these vehicles had flat tires the night before, and the tires haven't deflated since. I can't concretely prove that this "patrol service" is intentionally deflating tires to hand out more citations, but if they're working hand in glove with the towing companies, I wouldn't put it past them. Traditions isn't known for hiring the most reputable towing companies. All I can say is I'm glad I have a personal air compressor, or I wouldn't have a vehicle anymore. Everything else: I mentioned the price hike for electricity earlier, and that was specifically an issue because we'd been the only ones in the apartment, and spending most our time out of the house, but our rent was $100 higher than it had ever been. I asked the staff to fix it, and they informed me that I'd have to talk to Conservice because they're a separate company. I asked if I could pay just the rent and wait to pay utilities till after they'd fixed it, and they told me there's no way to do that, it's all one payment. So when I'm having to pay out money, it's all one company. But when it's time to take responsibility for a screw up, it's a separate company (overseas btw). That tracks. Traditions at South is no longer a welcoming and safe place. They're turning into a scammy cop out that will bend the rules in their contact just enough to maximally extort you without "quite" breaking the law, (or at least, making sure they don't get caught). The only reason this review is getting more than one star is that the actual apartment itself is fine. Appliances are all provided, fully furnished, and comfortable. Maintenance and pest control are free, however ineffective they may be, and up until these shady business decisions it was a nice place to live. As it stands, I do not regret moving out, I don't miss the place, and I will never be coming back. Thank you."
"Mackenzie was so helpful when it came to explaining information about my lease, the amenities of my apartment, and the renters insurance. I don’t understand how someone would want to live at any other student housing apartment complex when Mackenzie goes above and beyond to make sure residents are taken care of and are fully aware of important information."
