Bryce Main

Bryce Main, located at 200 Bryce Lawn Drive in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is a historic institution that is undergoing renovations to become a vibrant hub for the performing arts and academic center. The main hospital building is being transformed to include a University welcome center, reception venue, faculty offices, and rehearsal space for Theatre and Dance. Additionally, the building will house museums dedicated to University history and the history of mental health in Alabama.

The new Performing Arts Academic Center, connected to the restored Bryce Main, will be the centerpiece of the campus, offering world-class performance venues for students to showcase their talents. With four performance theatres of varying sizes and styles, including a black box theatre, a proscenium style theatre, a dance venue, and a dance studio theatre, students will have the opportunity to engage with audiences in an intimate setting.

The facility will provide students with state-of-the-art studios for costume, scenery, production, and lighting design, allowing them to transition seamlessly into the professional world. The theatres are equipped with adjustable acoustics and engineered floors for dance, providing a high-quality experience for performers and audiences alike.

Donors have the opportunity to support the project by contributing to various aspects of the facility, such as dressing rooms, donor suites, and patrons lounges.
