"I feel like the triage process could be done better. We arrived at 11:07, with an 11:20 appointment. The people who signed in 20 seconds prior to us had an 11:30 appointment for two kids with the same pediatrician we were seeing and they were called back and seen before us. I have a sick child, so I’d like to be seen at my appointment time, otherwise what’s the purpose of the appointment time? We do appreciate that this facility is open almost 24/7, that weekend clinic is so great, walk in clinic, and that call backs are prompt. Almost all the nurses/MAs, and MDs are very pleasant. We’ve had to see a few MDs aside from our regular due to sick visits. 2 years later and this is still a major issue. We made an appointment. Arrived 20 minutes early for check in & to update my Childrens chart. 30 minutes after the designated appointment time & we still have yet to see a doctor. You can bank on an appointment taking at least two hours or more. This should not be the case. We love that this office is open every day of the week, have late hours, and sick appointments, but time management is extremely poor. Edited to add, as we still use the group due to our love of our pediatrician. We made a sick appointment for 5:10. We live a good 90 minutes from Providence clinic, so we arrived a little early because we left early to made room for traffic delays. They refused to sign us in until 5pm. So, I wouldn’t advise arriving early for sick clinic, since they refuse to sign you in. We could have just been seen at urgent care and moved on at this rate."
"Never thought I would be saying this. Over 30 years of being a patient here and I have never experience nothing like this. On Sunday 9/3/2023 my son got ill. My son had glossy eyes, he couldn't stay woke and as a first time momma I was very concerned. I called the doctor's office because I was out near them to let them know the situation. Of course I was panicking and upset. I advised the office staff what was going on and that I was near them. The office staff did not seem concerned. They told me that they would have the nurse to call me back whenever. I called back hoping to get someone else, same response. I advised that I feel safe to come there to just let a nurse or someone lay eyes on my son due to we were close and my son needed help. When I got there, I was very calm and the staff advised that the nurse will be with me that I can wait. I was yes mam and kindly waited on the nurse. I was not rude or belligerent. Matter of fact the front staff was smiling and talking to me. When the nurse came out, she automatically said oh your son has a stomach bug because that it what was going around. She said that he can see the doctor if he would like but she is just going to tell you the same thing. That means she gave me an option to see the doctor. Not one time she said go to the ER in which I was trying to avoid at all cost because of covid. My response to her was I am not trying to question you, however if I could, I would love to get him checked out to make sure that is what was going on with my son. She said that it was my choice. I then advised my husband that I would love to have him checked because if anything happens to him at home I will not be happy. I believe any parent would understand that. So they signed us in and advised that there was a balance that I needed to pay before them seeing my son. I advised them that I will be willing to pay and gave them $60 leaving a small remaining balance. I was desperate to make sure my son was ok. Taking my bill money to pay in an emergency situation. So we waited liked they asked us too. Now mind you, they said it was going to be a long wait, however, we got back fairly quickly. On the way back, the nurse admitted and said he does look like he not feeling well. Dr. Todd came in the room. Mind you her beside manners were horrible. She took a look at my son briefly and with a snotty attitude said mom I would like talk to you about the practice. She told me that I was disrespectful to come into the practice. I was flabbergasted. I remain calm and advised that I have been with this practice for over 30 years and I was never disrespectful. I tried to explain to her that I was in need of help due to how my son was acting and my location. Dr. Todd would not even let me complete my statement to get an understanding. I tried to advise her that it was never my intent and she stated "Well how would you like someone coming up to your job." I was really upset at this point but I remained calm. She has no idea what I do and what I would do. Secondly, this is my son's doctor office in whom I trusted with his care. At this point, she forgot all about my son, he was crying on the table because of how he was feeling. So respectfully, I said mam, I am just trying to get my son taken care of. So be told the nurse to give him zofran and some other medicine. I dont know how they gave it to him, but he started vomiting quite badly. He vomited over my husband's shoe, floor, and etc. Full review on Facebook"
"I have always loved and praised this clinic. Today they have been petty and not put my child first. We had her ankle looked at in an urgent care and it ended up being broken. They told me insurance wouldn't pay for a referral if they put it in without them seeing it. That is incorrect when I questioned further they said well that's just our policy we don't "trust urgent cares". Wanting me to come in and pay another visit with them to get the referral to orthopedic. Reluctantly they put it in and coded it as routine and pain in ankle didn't mention the fracture that urgent care faxed them the radiology report for. Then called 30 min after they put the referral in saying just so you know they haven't approved it. Pettiness has no place in a pediatric office. Then after leaving a review on FB they blocked me from their page."
"It's been almost 13 years since my children have been going to CMG on Airport and I have no regrets. My three children all see Dr. Little and he's been nothing but the best! Not once have I had a long wait, not once have I not been able to get an appt within the time frame I needed. The staff is always very nice, accommodating and understanding. If anyone asks, I've always recommended CMG and I'll continue to do so. My overall experience everytime is always pleasant."
"I can never say enough good things about the doctors at staff of Children's Medical Group! Everyone is always so welcoming to our entire family. Though it is a fairly large practice, it has a family-like feel to it. My kids love looking for the turtles, reading the books, and talking about the characters on the exam room walls. We appreciate Dr. Little so much! He keeps an eye on the statistics, but puts the norms of our family above the "norms" of his charts. He is always patient and gives fantastic advice. When my son was transferred to a hospital that Dr. Little did not have rights to, he would still call to check in on us and help us understand any upcoming procedures. I absolutely love that, in seven years, I have never had to take one of my children to an urgent care. Since CMG has before and after hours clinics, as well as weekend and holiday availability, I have always gotten my children in to a pediatrician I know that I trust."
