The Veggie

"I’m sorely disappointed with The Veggie. I had high expectations. There was a long wait, but I was not upset about that, after all it was their grand opening. BUT after waiting an hour and a half for our meals, mine was subpar. First the good: The prices are really reasonable. The staff was super friendly! The atmosphere is inviting and bright, though a tad smoky. The lemonade was fantastic, we got a charcoal and a mango ginger. My daughter got the Philly and it was really good. Now the bad: After waiting an hour and a half, the fries were cold. I definitely wasn’t expecting that. I ordered the chikn strips. There was more breading than oyster mushrooms. The menu stays you get EIGHT slices, I’d be lucky if I got TWO. The rest was breading or mushrooms that were cooked so hard you couldn’t eat them. They too were cold. We bought 4 cookies at the register and they were undercooked. I understand that they were super slammed, but I would have expected they still put their best foot forward on opening day as well as after having people wait so long. "We love the veggie…simple! Fresh food MADE TO ORDER which is perfectly fine with me! Great aesthetics, superb customer service and of course, tasty food. I love how the owner wears all hats despite her being the owner. Kids eat free on Wednesdays and you can never go wrong with that. If you’re in a rush to pick up your food, you can simply order ahead. You can tell the owner put her all into this restaurant and it shows. I honestly don’t have any favorites because everything I’ve tried is a 10/10…with an additional stamp of approval from my 6 year old picky eater ☺️"

"We went shopping at Sprouts and I asked my husband to join me on a date and try out The Veggie with me. It was a lot of typical complaining about eating vegan food. Once we ordered, him the Smokey Impossible Bowl and for me the herbed steak bowl, he settled down. The food was amazing. Finally, I found a place that serves salad greens that aren't iceberg Lettuce or romaine and it wasn't wilted and slimey. The herbed steak bowl is spicy but so good. I tried some of the Smokey Impossible Bowl and it was REALLY good. 10/10 we BOTH will be coming back."

"We had the kids 'quesadilla', the Philly cheese patty melt, house cut fries, and signature lemonade. It was all very good. Several in our party had never had vegan food before and were raving about the patty melt. We will definitely be back to try other menu items, especially with the kids eating free on Wednesdays."

"My life changed tonight when I decided to try The Veggie. I was looking at ordering uber eats and noticed it wasn't far from where I was about to pass. I got the orange "chicken" meal, fries and chips. When I tell you my entire family tried that orange mushroom dish and begged me for more not ONCE did any of these picky kids mention it wasn't chicken. The sauce was so so good. The fries are crispy and my kids are already asking when we get more of those "fresh doritos". 10000% yes! Side note to mention the staff is beautiful inside and out."
