"Did trail a few weeks ago. Loved it. Rode it on Saturday and it was closed after mile 22."
"The trail is fine for walking. It is dirt and pea gravel with lots of drop offs and ridges, so not good for road bikes, at least need mountain bike. There was a pit toilet at the parking lot, but it was disgusting and had no paper. The scenery was nice and I enjoyed being outside on the first nice day of spring, but I wouldn't go back"
"What a great resource. This trail is 33 miles one way to Westhaven. I don’t recommend you use a road bike unless you have wide tires (32+). There are plenty of rest stops and the scenery is beautiful. Note that the ride from Westhaven back to Kalamazoo is uphill but a very slight grade. Bring plenty of hydration and snacks or stop in Westhaven for lunch."
"From being here twice on 4th of July and the day after the kalamazoo end of the trail is very pretty all 6 miles in I went. Not to many bugs either. First day in the morning, second day at noon and about the same. The tree canopy is great at controlling the temperature. It didn't quite feel like 90 degrees without the sun beating down on you. Couple roads to cross but traffic was very minimal. The photo was about 3 miles in. I rode a gravel bike and saw many road bikes doing well on trail. I also had a bike trailer and it road great. Road was quite firm. I wouldn't recommend this setup right after some rain tho. Might be quite a bit muddy"
"The trail is beautiful and we enjoyed our all-day ride the full length. There were signs along the trail to remind us where we are and also to point out museums, ice cream shops, etc. There were water pumps along the trail which was nice but they are manually operated which may not be easy for some users to do alone. There are pit potties too, however, the pit potties were not standard-nasty they were extraordinary-nasty... Could smell them before we could see them."
