Skyrise Luxury Apartments 525 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

"I lived here for a year so I am going to give the most honest review I can. I'll start with the good and then go to the not so good. Its extremally convenient if you like the downtown environment, the views are great and the apartments are very nice. The maintenance staff was great, they would assist at any time of the day always with a smile on their face. Now for the not so good. I don't regret living here but I did move out for specific reasons.. 1st the General Manager. She's got a completely different attitude then the rest of the staff. I don't want to say anything more than she just comes across very disrespectful. I'm not going to give specific examples but she made it very hard to come to her with issues. The evacuation alarms went off about 6 different times throughout the year, that's not ideal living on the 18th floor when you cant use the elevators. The do have free breakfast on Fridays which is only convenient if you don't have a job, so I got to experience that once. Halls and stairwells often smell like smoke, alarms go off the frequently because of the elderly living on the lower levels, Homeless people living rent free out of their vehicles in the parking lot, Both mine and my girlfriends vehicles were broken into twice. Someone stole my cars gas cap, for what I don't know. My girlfriends vehicle had roughly $6,000 in damages from a crack head that parked next to her for the night and his vehicle exploded catching hers and the car next to it on fire. None of which the skyrise could help with. I would recommend spending the extra $90 a month for underground parking. Plus one time there was a homeless man sleeping in the exit vestibule going to the parking lot as I was leaving for work in the morning. Overall I would say the location and view may outweigh most of the cons but all of the things I mentioned are real and should be accounted for if you are thinking about renting here. 5.75/10 Overall Score."

"Called many times to see how the apartments looked inside since I was in town and in the senior skyrise apartments. No one would answer the call, I even left a message stating that I was in the building and just wanted to see how the luxury apartments looked real quick. These people acted as if no one is welcomed to view the luxury apartments, makes me wonder what are they hiding."
