"I lived at 58 west from August-December and I think it’s important to note it was this year. They underwent new management and were bought by the paddocks just before a couple of months before I moved in. My roommate and I loved living here. Management was very easy to communicate with and any issues with the apartment were dealt with in a timely manner. We felt very safe and there was a nightly patrol as well. This was a very good price compared to apartments near it! It’s not modern or new but it works and it was kept up very nicely."

"The accommodations and green space at this complex make it an inviting place to live. 58 West is a great place to be for reasonable pricing and proximity to Kalamazoo. The apartment layouts themselves are a bit small, but the rates make up for it."

"lived there for little over 2 years. constantly dealing with broken appliances and false repair dates. went without heat for months. washing machine broke and when. they finally attempted to repair it after MONTHS, they replaced it with a used one from another unit that was broken. over charged for rent or payments were lost."

"I’ve lived here (3) years and I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone looking for housing in the Kalamazoo area. I haven’t been the best resident, and didn’t always see eye-to-eye with management, but all of my concerns have been addressed by the staff in the office. The apartments are clean and if you take care of your apartment it will stay clean. I have never felt unsafe here but I have heard of a few people leaving their cars unlocked and if you choose to leave your car unlocked, you are inviting others to open the doors. The complex has signs all over advising residents to lock their vehicles and secure their valuables. The prices for utilities are nominal and are billed direct by Consumers. The Wifi is very reliable and hardly ever goes out. If it does go out, it’s out for a very short time. There is ample parking available and handicap spaces directly in front of the units. A local tow company consistently enforces the handicap spaces as they are reserved for residents with a placard for disability."

"It was move in day guys, a time to be excited for!!! Well not moving into 58 west. I’ve had the pleasure of helping a friend move into their unit and guys. When I say these people bring a new low. The unit wasn’t prepared at all. All of the furniture was in the living room/kitchen/bathroom. Carpet shavings all over the floor, dirt caked on the ceiling fans. The tub is dirty and the metal is rusted. The kitchen sink is stained with some white coating you can’t even remove, and the paint is chipping. The smoke detectors are barely mounted to the ceilings. Speaking of the ceilings they look like they are detaching themselves. The coils on the electric stove are rusted and there is what looks to be mold growing up from the back of the refrigerator. They wouldn’t allow my friend to even see the unit before signing the lease and paying move in cost. This place used to have a lot of potential it’s sad to see how low the quality has dropped at this place. A month into my friends lease and all they managed to do was move furniture around. Stove still rusted, mold still growing behind the fridge, and the washer machine doesn’t like water so no clean clothes! Great job at earning your 2.9 stars 58 West!"
