River Pointe Apartments

"DO. NOT. LIVE. HERE!!!!!!!!! The property manager is an absolute NIGHTMARE! I am actually seriously in talks with a lawyer to file harassment charges against her. I have lived here for a short 9 months and it has been the absolute worst experience of my adult life. Just one instance, I came into the office and asked the leasing agent for an envelope that was left for my by the assistant property manager. After she couldn’t find it, she asked the property manager where it was. The property manager had grabbed the envelope off the desk before I came into the office, went through it, and refused to give it to me. She stated that anything in the envelope, I could print off online. When I stated I don’t have access to a printer, she continued to refuse to give me the paperwork I had requested. The paperwork was simply the umpteen amounts of notices that they have placed on my door. When I say it’s a lot, it’s so many that even the property manager didn’t want to hand them to me. There were emails as well that I didn’t know were placed in there and the property manager made good and sure that I didn’t have any of those given to me. Then she proceeded to verbally attack me and yell at me about my parenting, my cleanliness etc. The woman(to my knowledge) does not live inside my apartment with me, so how would she know if my unit is clean and if I take care of my children? She stated that she obviously cares more about my children’s safety than I do. All I simply came in for was the envelope, she escalated it to a personal attack on me. She has been trying to “evict” me for several different “lease violations” that haven’t actually happened. She states that people have complained about things that are simply not true and she has absolutely no proof that they are true. It’s to the point where I feel as if she is making up stories, putting them in my file to try to “prove” that she is right. She is a disgusting human being who has continually harassed myself and my children. I am the only parent in my household and she has threatened to evict me at least once per month. Jeopardizing my livelihood and that of my children is emotionally exhausting and draining and it is causing so much emotional distress. She has even threatened to remove my emotional support animals on more than one occasion. Steer clear! Even the maintenance has been a nightmare. It was literally raining inside my bedroom and I called maintenance to fix it, they came in and poked holes in my ceiling and put a bucket down. It’s still exactly how they left it. The kitchen sink constantly clogs and they say I’m putting grease down the drain as the drained grease sits in a bowl next to the sink. The property manager has made this place hell and I am most definitely not the only person extremely unhappy. I have an entire list of people who are willing to complain if I give their names. Again, do not live here."

"I have lived here for two years and this is my experience: We wanted our daughter to be in a good school district and the square footage for the price seemed like a great deal. Before moving in I had read the reviews about the electric bill being high, the walls being very thin, and management being rude. My spouse did not want to move here but because it seemed like a decent deal we tried it. The pros are this : square footage, dog friendly, and good school system, maintance will fix things immediately and are so kind. The cons: there was a shooting where swat had to come in and the police and fire department are there often. Office management did not debrief its residents. I tried to turn rent in on a sunday but could not because they had taken out a lock box and still incured a late fee even when discussing this with them. Why was the lock box taken out? Because someone ripped it out. I have had high electric bills but my goodness nothing compared to these apartments. My HVAC system went out and had a 500 dollar electric bill!! 500!! When i went to dispute this with the utility company they had asked if we used space heaters because our usage was so high. I told her we kept it at a constant temperature and didn't mess with it but we did have our hvac system go out and she said we needed to take it up with the manager. I spoke to Erin about it and it turned into a shouting match and her bringing up an issue that was unrelated. After deciding to resign our lease, the same exact issue happened the following winter. We like to keep to ourselves and while the walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors alarm go off, the dog barking, and people shutting their doors, we had received a notice about neighbors complaining we were slamming our doors during the day and evening. We were certain they misreported because we both work two jobs and I travel out of state of college as well. Lastly, they sent an email out to everyone that offered an incentive if they wrote a review about the apartment complex. which is why if you look at all the time stamps for 5 star reviews it is all within the same week of one another. Seems a bit misleading. Overall from my experience of being unsure about this place because of the horrible reviews and still choosing to live there, it could be a good pitstop but its a money pit and there are SO many better apartment options that are still in PHM school district that are safer and not so many hidden fees."

"I just moved to River Pointe in November, this is my first ever apartment experience and my first full time moving out on my own. There was a lot of things I wanted in researching a place, and so far River Pointe has done a great job. They were very responsive when I moved in, whenever I have had any minor issues they make sure it is fixed promptly. The unit I am in is very spacious and has definitely come to feel like home. I overall feel like it is very safe here and quiet yet close to a lot of different commodities. Thank you River Pointe staff for everything you do for your residents."

"Very welcoming place to live. I live here with my child and we love the space and atmosphere. At first I was unsure of not having a washer and dryer in my unit, but the laundry room is close and easily accessible. The apartment is very spacious and worth the price. I’ve lived in an apartment before and it was a little more than what I pay now but half the space. It is easier to hear everything going on but our neighbors aren’t disruptive or noticeable. Very pet friendly. The parking lot is freshly paved and the lawn care is always taken care of. Residents are always updated and kept in the loop with emails and letters in advance about what’s going on in the community like when paving will be done, fire alarm checkups, toys for tots, and even Halloween treat bags for kids in the community. I would definitely recommend living here. Very quiet and welcoming community."
