Hyatt Place South Bend/Mishawaka

"Our family has always been a Hyatt hotel members. I checked at 2:30am on a Saturday morning because electricity went down in Midwest rain/snow. I called the Hyatt Place in Mishawaka I told them the front desk. Response “No problem, this night is free and you’ll be charged for Sunday.” I walk in at an hour do to travel time. The gentleman I spoke to earlier said “Yes, Mrs. My last your room is on second floor in corner since there’s a youth hockey tournament, so this is why I put you there. ”No problem, it was quite the whole time I was there. Then as I’m checking out I was charged for both nights… I told the young lady the situation and I was told unfortunately he needed to authorization from Management and yes, we’ll refund the night. Four weeks later no refund or commutation from them."

"Normally, if I leave a review, it is for 5 stars. The reasons I am not this time are: 1. For some reason I got a handicap room that was on the same floor as a family reunion or some kind of big event so for several hours when I'm trying to rest to get up early for work the next day I can't. 2. Even after mentioning it to the front desk, they continued to let the kids and their parents raise hell all day, running back and forth and playing field hockey in the hallways. 3. The third reason is the biggest reason. I had my Do Not Disturb sign on my door for the entire 10 day stay I had for work. For some reason, room service went into my room anyway. All in all, I will still recommend the Hyatt as I like these hotels, but do better."

"Beautiful room that was functional and comfortable. The service was outstanding at the front desk and bar. The gym is small but has everything needed. I didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. Also the breakfast was delicious. Everything about my stay was top notch and better than I expected for the price."

"The staff was exceptional! From the front desk to the cafeteria area, everyone was very friendly and did all they could to make our stay wonderful. The room was very nice. If I were to make any recommendations, it would be for the couch to be cleaned, however; I wouldn't count this against the property because I know some visitors can be reckless. The carpet appeared to be new, and that was a plus for me. My husband and I are the type to make sure the room is as clean as possible when we leave, and yes, we still leave the cleaning crew a nice tip."

"The staff was great very accommodating and friendly. We arrived somewhere between 12:00 - 1:00 am and she was just straight to what we needed. The breakfast was great and replenished often. The room was good and spacious; although I do agree the toilet room is a bit small, but made for its use. I do agree that the carpet needs a deep cleaning or an update in general. The price was good for a weekday night."
