Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Metro Airport Romulus

"To be honest we were quite wary of our stay at an airport hotel. We normally frequent Marriott brands such as the JW or ritz. We didn’t make our flight and didn’t want to go all the way back into downtown Detroit. We chose the courtyard and it was great! The hotel when you walk into the lobby is renovated & new and on top of that it smelled very clean. The rooms were very clean. Our shower glass was spotless - no finger prints, no hair, nothing in our room that made us feel the place was dirty. Sheets were clean and the staff was very nice and friendly. Place was quiet and clean two important things. Thanks Courtyard crew!"

"As a loyal Titanium member with Marriott, I've always held the brand in high regard. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the "manager" on duty at the Courtyard Marriott fell short of the exceptional service I've come to expect. Upon check-in, I encountered a rude and lackluster reception that left me feeling unwelcome. Which was surprising given the level of service I've received at other Marriott properties. Despite my frequent stays and commitment to the brand, I made the difficult decision to cancel my reservation and explore alternative accommodations."

"The room itself was great, as was the front desk staff at night..but the shuttle service was not. I asked the front desk to call for the 9am pickup shuttle, but the driver never stopped to pick me up. Went back in to tell the front desk, and she put the driver on speaker phone, and after 5 mins of both of them arguing with each other, she said hed come back around and pick me up. The driver then was on his headset talking to a friend, complaining about his job the whole time he was driving me to the airport. If your on a tight schedule, dont rely on the shuttle service. Just grab an uber. Its only around 8-10 bucks."

"Great hotel close to the airport. Shuttle service is available if you call the hotel upon arrival. However it's only a $5-10 Uber if you don't want to wait. Lobby renovations are in the works, so it should have a nice refresh in a couple of months! Surprisingly, it wasn't too loud even though it is lined up with the approach / departure corridors."
