"Run from this doctor especially if you are a high risk pregnancy! I was pregnant with my first child after years of infertility. I started to have high blood pressure and protein in my urine early on in my pregnancy. Dr McFarland was at first very cautious and warned that I may possibly develop preeclampsia. She told me signs and symptoms to watch for. Despite my consistent high bp she never put on blood pressure meds until the last month. I started showing signs of preeclampsia, one being sudden weight gain and blurred vision. When I went to my appointment dr McFarland accuses me of eating to unhealthy for the weight gain and made me keep a food journal for a week! She blew me off and slowly I started developing more symptoms and each day my bp got higher. It was at 160/100 and she told me it was not high and to not go to the hospital! I ended up in urgent care and the nurses there couldn’t believe my ob would not admit me to the hospital. I ended up being admitted to labor and delivery by ambulance my bp was sky high and I had a high amount of swelling all over my body. Once admitted dr McFarland was on duty and told me we would start an induction. That was the last I saw or heard from her. I ended up being induced for four days which resulted in an emergency c section. I developed severe preeclampsia and almost died from hellp syndrome. I was in the hospital for almost two weeks after delivery because I was so sick. My organs were trying to shut down it was the absolute worst experience. Thankfully my baby was perfect. A little small at five pounds but perfect. During the whole time in the hospital dr McFarland never once checked on me. I know she was there to. I worked at the hospital at the time and was often on the labor and delivery units so I knew how often the doctors were on shift at the hospital. I don’t blame her for the preeclampsia but I do feel if she would have listened and taken it more seriously that way may not have had such a severe case of preeclampsia. She really needs to retire her views of pregnancy and childbirth are very old school. I did have another child that did not result in preeclampsia and had a much more positive and healthy pregnancy and birth."

"Dr. McFarland delivered my son 14 yrs ago on the 14th. I believe she was on call that night bc my doctor was on vacation. I only got to the hospital 4 hours before i delivered. There were some minor complications due to nature. She was fabulous and my son is a completely healthy young man. I would like to say Thank You to her ❤"

"She threatened me during the birth of my son that she would use the vacuum if I couldn’t push. She made me feel like a puppet She didn’t follow one word of my birth plan She was a total B. Stay away from her at all costs"
