"Here for a year and never looked back (esp. after two poor experiences at the local cat-only vet). Dr. Withers is phenomenal with great bedside manner, reassuring for us but most importantly for any anxious kitty on the table. Supporting vet techs are who we interact with most for nail trims every few weeks– they are SO good that kitty is back in her carrier 90 seconds after the trim so she doesn't even protest much any more. Just overall amazing veterinary care, which brings a lot of comfort to our little family!"

"Our dog was diagnosed with advanced bone cancer on the 7th at Humane Society, and within a week she took a turn for the worst. We called Eighth Street Vet Clinic on Friday the 15th in the morning to see if they could help us in ending her suffering. They got her in that day and even met us at the car where our baby girl was comfortable. They gave her lots of love and treats, and they were so kind and helpful in our time of need and despair. The other animal parents coming in and out were fantastic, too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our tough time a little easier."

"I rarely post reviews, but I feel compelled to share my positive experience with this Veterinary Clinic, with a special shout out to Ashley and Dr. Withers. I have been a loyal client of theirs for seven years, and over the past year, I have visited them almost monthly for the treatment of Mast Cell Tumors on my dog, Moe. I was so impressed that I even convinced my mother to bring my childhood dog to this clinic as well. I can confidently say that this clinic is the only one you'll ever need. They demonstrate trustworthiness, compassion, and a genuine concern for your animals, rather than focusing on profitability. Their pricing is also fair, and Dr. Withers provides all the necessary information and answers any questions without making you feel ignorant. Recently, I had to take my dogs to the VCA emergency vet after they were attacked by 2 dogs that dug under our fence and got in our yard. Although they were quite busy, Dr. Withers made time for us to offer a second opinion. The VCA vet recommended surgery for one of my dogs due to debris in her arm, resulting in a bill of over $700 for the visit and medication, with no physical intervention. However, Dr. Withers disagreed and believed surgery was unnecessary. He confirmed that the medication prescribed by VCA was appropriate, cleaned my dog's wounds, gave us necessary supplies and ointment for less than $240. A month later, my dog has fully healed without undergoing anesthesia at almost 8 years old. I could share many more instances of the exceptional care my pets have received at this clinic, such as allowing Moe to stay behind the front desk with them after his surgery to ease his separation anxiety, or their patience with my wary dog, Artemis. However, I fear this review has already become lengthy. My main message is that you will never regret entrusting your animals to 8th Street Vet. If you reside in the Kalamazoo Area, I highly recommend considering their services. They are truly deserving of more than just 5 stars."

"We have been at Eight Street Veterinary Care for about 6 years now. They have always been gentle with our animals, even with our male cat who used to be a bite risk. They discovered his diabetes a couple years ago and educated us on his disease and worked with us to get his insulin dosage that has our cat back to running around and playing with our younger cat. They have been so kind and gentle with our elderly dog Nora (almost 15 yrs old) who is now in more palliative care due to her age. Thank you Eighth Street Veterinary Care!"

"Dr. Withers rarely listened to my concerns when I brought my cat Barbossa to him. Thank goodness I moved and went to a new vet. But now my cat has passed away, and the blood work from 2021 shows early warning signs of the conditions that ended his life, and he never said a thing. You would think that he would care more for a cat that a member of his own front desk staff found on the street. Shame on you. Edit: He saw you guys multiple times in the year I lived in the area. At least get the facts right before replying."
