"I moved in and there were 2 small dressers in office and I thought they were owned by complex. I move out and leave them there thinking they belong to property and they take $250 off my deposit to remove them even though they weren’t mine to begin with. Never got that money back."

"If I could leave zero stars I would. Grandin does not take care of their buildings or tenants. My apartment filled with mold due to their lack of care of the building, their steps were broken long term with loose boards, and I could go on. I asked to speak to the manager or owner multiple times when I was battling the mold issue and was always told she was conveniently out of the office each time, even if I called when I was told she’d be there. Even the local utility people know they are horrible to work with. Please save yourself the trouble."

"5 stars: Thank you Katlin for being a great leasing manager and our line of communication to all our questions during our apartment stay. The maintenance team at grandin is also super helpful and responsive and pleasant! 0 stars: I had an incredibly difficult time getting a hold of the boss of the company when I was trying to install some doors in the apartment to get approval from her. Never heard anything from her and went ahead and did the project anyways.. Paid all by me. Never heard a word from her directly to me to say a simple thanks. A cold shoulder. Seems to always be on vacation.."

"I had an awful experience at the San Carlos building in Hyde Park. The place has cockroaches and maintenance was slow. I had a clogged sink for weeks before they decided to fix it. The manager was very difficult to get get in contact with. The building was nice, but they slammed me with fees on top of the high rent. I could go on... Perhaps the other properties and managers are better but that wasn't my experience."

At each one of their buildings, you can feel the unique history that comes with a sense of security and peace. When I viewed my current apartment for the first time in the San Carlos building off of Madison Rd, it took no time at all for me to realize how well I would fit into it and how easily I had just found my new home. I love it! The staff were friendly through the searching process, in addition to the finalization of the rental. My favorite feature of my new apartment is the solarium! It's a great addition to an already beautiful apartment!"
