"Just got 26-day notification that my friends rent is being raised 200 dollars making her monthly rent 1050 dollars. I feel at fault because I referred her to this complex because it was one of the only ones we could find that would allow her dogs. Let's break down what 1050 a month will get you. Hallways that are dingy and dusty. Walkways that are littered with broken glass and trash. A large pothole in the parking lot. An elevator that sounds ancient and as if it is nearing collapse. It also doesn't have a sensor, so the heavy door shuts on people. A floor in her apartment that is not level. If you stand on one part of the floor in the dining room, you can slide down it. Also, for weeks they were out of power. Just her apartment. Took over a week for her power to be fixed just for them to turn around and ask for more money. At this point property management companies are simply asking for more money because they can and its corrupt. The people should know what they will get if the rent here and it is NOT worth 1050 dollars. it wasn't even worth the original rental price."
