"For what it’s worth, this hotel definitely shows up on plenty of influencer lists of unique boutique hotels in Columbus. Whether those spots are purchased or not well interrogated is certainly a question I have after following their advice and booking a stay here. From the very outset, the elevator system requires a keycard and has you choose a floor when you call it. (No buttons inside the elevator) While I’m sure this is great for security, EVERYONE we rode with during our stay expressed a similar frustration with the system. Oh, and check in is on the second floor up the elevator you don’t know how to use yet. Check in was easy. It’s in the bar and the folks at the unmarked check in cart will do nothing to welcome you or guide you to them despite seeing you walk in with luggage looking generally confused. They do give you free drink tokens for your stay. That’s nice. The room was a king room. Here’s where things get bad and uncomfortable. Everything was low to the ground. There are no surfaces to put your luggage on, the usb ports in the wall sockets don’t work, the toilet is a square and too wide, there is no where to sit, no where to put ANYTHING that doesn’t hang from a hook on the wall. No coffee maker. No iron. No robes. No microwave. Just a minifridge a bed and your slow building regret. There is a TV placed awkwardly high and cattycorner from the bed though so it was nice standing in front of it to watch the news in the morning. The location is great. Plenty of bars and restaurants and nightlife right outside the doors of the hotel, on the bottom floor of the hotel, through the windows of the hotel, next door to your room, upstairs. It’s a party around here and it doesn’t stop until about 4am. Great place to stay in Cbus if you don’t care about amenities, sleep quality, service, or the overall vibe."
"Great hotel with a great location. It’s located near so many amazing bars and restaurants. The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but very clean and comfortable in my opinion! Definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a fun weekend trip with friends or date night in Short North!"
"I would highly recommend this hotel. Before arriving, I read the reviews and I was a bit worried. I do not understand why some people have to be so critical. Check in was excellent. All staff members were professional. The room was wonderful. I loved all the modern features. I wasn’t disturbed at all by noise. The room on the sixth floor was very quiet. This is a very nice hotel in a great location."
"This was my second time staying at the Moxy and my experience has been amazing both times. I travel with my dog and the hotel is pet friendly. The rooms are clean and the staff is always accommodating. Ryder and Mozart went above and beyond ensuring my dog and I were taken care of. I was traveling for a conference and they made sure I had no stresses with Zeus while I was away. 10/10 recommend this hotel. The queen room is smaller so if you need space, book the king. I have stayed in both rooms, it is always clean and comfortable."
"Was transferred to this hotel when there were no rooms at a conference I was attending. Arrived at the hotel and saw check-in desk was behind a bar. Bottles of alcohol were everyone and people were sitting around drinking as I checked in. I am a person in recovery and had no idea this hotel check-in was at the bar. Would have never booked the hotel had I known this. Did not feel comfortable or safe staying here and needed to leave in order to not be triggered. Explained it to the person at the desk and since I was cancelling after the 48-hour cancellation policy I would be charged one night. Side note I booked 2 rooms and was now being charged one night or each room. I respect the rules however there are situations where exceptions can be made. We did not stay over AND did not feel comfortable at a hotel where the front desk is behind a bar. Very disappointed with the Moxy and Marriott for not respecting people in recovery. I know have a charge of $450 for 2 rooms one night because I did not feel safe at this hotel. Shame on all of you."
