As I arrived, I easily found a parking spot in the small, yet empty lot. With no one else around, I relished the opportunity to have the park all to myself. It was a rare and cherished moment of solitude. My journey into the heart of this oasis began with a visit to a charming shelter that featured restrooms and a grill. I was pleased to find the facilities in impeccable condition, a testament to the park's commitment to cleanliness. The park's thoughtful amenities further enhanced my experience. Benches and picnic tables offered ideal spots to savor my meal and soak in the natural surroundings. A well-designed children's playground stood ready for families to enjoy, while strategically placed drinking fountains ensured that visitors remained hydrated during their stay. After a satisfying lunch, I decided to embark on a leisurely walk along the park's impeccably maintained paved trail. What struck me most was the generous canopy of shade provided by the mature trees that lined the path. It was a welcome respite from the sun's rays, and I reveled in the coolness it offered. As I continued my exploration, the trail branched off into a smaller, more rustic nature trail. This charming path wound its way through a peaceful patch of woods, offering a deeper connection with nature. It was during this tranquil interlude that I had an unexpected encounter with a deer. Our eyes met, and for a brief moment, I felt a profound connection with this graceful creature, a connection that transcended words. "The park looks nice, but I was not there to use the park. I was there for the recycling drop off location. Sadly, people are misusing it. Instead recyclables, I saw a tire, a mattress and a rug stuffed into it. I checked several times and this bin is always full, even when people are not misusing it. I don’t think it gets emptied often enough. The drop off in nearby Drake park was also jammed, but at least it appeared to have legal recyclables and not junk."

"Went to Summertime Thursday night "Play in the Park". What a nice park and event! It is a nice diverse mix of folks attending, a band playing, planned events for the kids. An all-around, well attended, enjoyable evening. Kudos to the park board!"

"Very nice park..the playground area is amazing because you can see it at ever angle of the park..I felt safe when my grandkids were playing and I had to walk away. The bathrooms are clean and if their locked they still have a portal potty available. To have a picnic there is such a great idea because the park for the most part is always shady."
